Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This restaurant serves local aboriginal dishes, and there is no menu. Basically, for dinner, you can have the NT$650 or NT$850 meal, and they will serve you whatever they are cooking for that day. Reservations are required so that they can prepare beforehand the dishes....We saw a family come in without reservation, and their fish dish came out at the end of the meal because it takes time to prepare it. Also, dinner comes at 2 timings, and you would have to choose which timing you would be coming in for. For the amount you pay for the meal, there is a lot of food. It starts with a local wine, different appetizers, soup, rice, meats, dessert and tea. Personally, I found the taste of the food interesting, but my taste buds were not wowed by them. It is just a personal preference to food.More

I can't believe I could have such a delicious local aboriginal food be served. If you want to try, you need to make booking at least one day ahead. There is no menu, just relax and enjoy everything you get. They also serve home made...alcohols, which is amazing. The atmosphere is quiet and enjoying with background Mandarin music, and sometimes aboriginal musics.More

Great food with an indigenous flair. No menu, just sit back and let the chef work his magic! The indigenous rice wine is a perfect companion to the meal.

We came here via tripadvisor. We were looking much forward to having dinner here but it just turned out to be very disappointing. It's certainly not one of the cheapest restaurants. First we had to wait outside till exactly 19:30h. The dishes themselves were quite...plain of taste. About half of it was untasty... and the other half "so-and-so"; not one dish where I really had the idea that it was very tasty. We probably all enjoyed the tea the most. Staff are very correct and helpful. I'd recommend you to go somewhere else...More

Visited with family. Earlier reviews quite correct, very popular restaurant for visitors, by the sea but all you can see is the sea-wall/parking lot. Very small restaurant, limited seating inside or outside (under cover). Only 2 sittings, 5.30 and 7.30pm. Set 7 course dinner of...a fusion menu using only local product. Nothing spectacular, but was a very pleasant meal. Drinks are included with the meal, consisting of frozen mixed fruit slurpy (very refreshing in the hot weather) and rice wine at the end (no other drinks available). Also noted substitutions being used when they were short, the meal we were served not entirely the same as our neighbours. Staff were very friendly, though very limited English spoken. For foreigners (non Mandarin speakers) you really need someone with you who can interpret otherwise you'll have no idea what's going on. Many reviews have stated that you should book well in advance. Maybe we were lucky but we arrived at 5.30pm on a Friday night and able to make the 7.30pm sitting. Overall though, a pleasant experience (after all, there is not much to choose from in this area unless you're a local)More

First let me say that on average the food is not bad (it's not anything to write home about either). The place is close to the sea but because of the high wall the view is actually a parking lot. It has two sittings at...5:30 and 7:30. We visited the place twice. The restaurant has a set menu and does not take walk-ins as it is reservations only. It follows that the staff know exactly how many people will be attending at each serving. In both visits one of the dishes of the set menu had finished ( because we saw it being served in other tables irrespective of the order of arrival) and we were offered a "replacement dish". The first time the sashimi -raw fish-was replaced for some nigiri pieces, which are of course cheaper but they were kind of OK so we did not think too much of it. The second time the fried pork belly (probably the single best dish) was replaced by something that was so unfathomably bad that it spoiled the whole meal. This was 1.a small ramekin filled with canned tuna mixed with salad cream and some onions (for 4 persons) 2. 8 slices of stale baguette-morphed bread 3. 6 tiny tomatoes and 4. An orange, of which the top third was sliced and the rest was blissfully intact. The tuna mix was tooth-achingly sweet. I thought of squeezing the orange because I could not find any other use for it. Of course there was no deduction in our bill. So, twice a dish had finished and twice it was replaced by something cheaper, only the second time it was something a five-year old could come up with while playing "chef". Fool me once..., you know how it goes. I guess it's only for tourists who would never go twice. Avoid.More

it is close to the sea shore. A lot of hotels nearby. You have to make a reservation 3 days in advance.

This was such a great concept. You pay either 350nt or 550nt (for ten courses) and then the chef prepares you what he wants. All local food and absolutely fresh ingredients and good taste! I was so full by the end of it You should...reserve - they have very limited tables and two sitting times: 5.30pm and 7.30pm for dinner. Not sure about lunch... (though they are open for lunch). They even used google translate to tell us what we were getting. Very thoughtful service and highly recommend if you are staying in that part of time.More

Went past this place a few times but the shop appearance just do not appeal to me. It was until my Wife told me about the good online review of this restaurant. I was even more surprised that I need to book in advance. Food...turned out very nice but abit too much food for two of us. Call to book and prepare very empty stomach for this place. NICE!More

We walked into this place attracted by the smell. Small restaurant with very little tables (I recommend to call in advance and make a reservation). We were baffled by the set menu. The food was : - delicious - surprisingly delicious - oh my god...it was de-licious !!! 10 course menu of local dishes (550 nt per person) Every dish was better than the previous one and we even got a whole fish. Beware of the portions... do NOT fill-up on rice :)More

This restaurant does not have a menu. You go in, and they offer you a choice of 350NTD per pax or 550NTD per pax and you just trust the chef to make up your meal for you. It's kind of like a Taiwanese degustation. We...are so glad we went, as the food was really good. Didn't catch the names of the dishes though. One tip, however, is to book early. They only have 7 tables in the restaurant. Therefore, booking is essential especially if you are travelling in a big groupMore
