Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Spotted this place via FB. Have shortlisted it for my taiwan trip ever since. My son loves robots. Once I showed him the pics from FB, he has looking forward. We made reservations via FB messenger 2 weeks before. Recommended. My young kids can't wait when hungry. The service was norm. Food is nicely arranged. Taste slightly above average. But the deco is fantastic. Do go for meal if on the way.

Pretty good food--not a ton of vegetarian items but excellent juices and onion rings. The decor is really cute. Good and attentive service.

Didn’t know what to expect when pointed toward this restaurant by a local friend during a visit to Taichung. Located in a sort-of-posh neighborhood, the restaurant is surrounded by robots and robots – you can’t miss that just by looking at the entrance. Of course, there’s both robots from western movies as well as ones from Japanese animation – like the Gundam standing at the front display window of the complex. My initial impression of the restaurant was not knowing where to “enter.” I got fooled by thinking that the unit housing the Gundam was the main building, but it wasn’t. There’s also a chamber with robot merchandise on display, but there’s no place to dine here. Turns out that the two-story building towards the back was the right answer. The main restaurant is more like a cottage with tables to accommodate various groups. With only me, my wife, and my kid, we got a table with 2 sofas and a low coffee table. I would personally prefer to sit at the bar-height table next to the large statue of Tetsujin-28, but that was soon taken over by a party of college kids… oh well. As for the food, the selection is rather limited compared to other restaurants, so don’t come here if you are looking for great cuisine. My wife and I ordered a western-style sandwich set and a typical beef bowl entrée respectively. I have to admit that the food was worth the price, something you usually don’t expect from themed restaurants. In conclusion, I think the Robot Station Diner is a good place to grab a bite if you happen to walk by the area during an afternoon stroll. Both the cost and quality of meal here are reasonable, and the restaurant is a good place if you want to sit and chat for an hour or two.

Interesting decor with robots at the entrance and on the walls. Worth going for the experience and to take pictures rather than for the food. Soup was lukewarm and the rest of the food was mediocre. They also used chicken ham rather than "chicken" as stated on the menu.

This is a droid-themed cafe in the centre of Taichung town and is decked out with charming cartoon-style robots, from adult-height metal ones to thumb-sized plastic ones and cute retro ones to bouncy inflatable ones. Not only for little boys or big boys, the cafe has enough cute and quirky robots to be universally appealing. Take a table in its cosy glass-encased seating area, go through its menu with the names of dishes quirkily translated into English and decide whether you want “Strange Animals Pocket Baked Sandwich”, “late milk” (latte, served with an image of a robot drawn onto the foam) or “Indian milk tea” (teh tarik). There is also a small retail section selling robot stationery, wind-up toys and other robot-y items. Service here is very leisurely (it looked like this cafe was plagued by manpower woes; there were only two people taking orders, serving and cooking), so do not come here when you are in a rush. Save this place for an afternoon where you have time to sit and relax. After all, a place this cute deserves an extra bit of time anyway. The food here is only decent but are you really here for the food?

If you are a robot fan, you cannot miss this Cafe. Its a heaven for you. You can see all the robot collections from the owner! Some robot figures are even taller or as tall as you.... I was so impressed when I walked into this Robot Station Diner. I think they have over a hundred robot collections at this Cafe! Staff was very friendly with smile. She recommended me an Iced Robot House Cafe, which come with a side pudding. It was very tasty! Thank you, the counter girl, who was helping me out with my drink order! I'm very appreciated! ;) Sue from Canada Visited on jan21,2015
