Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This "tea shop" is really a breakfast store. Very popular with the locals and can be a bit intimidating to order if you don't read Chinese - because everyone seems to know the rules of this 30+ year old store. I went there on the...recommendation of the B&B owner, so I didn't have to read through the list of dishes on the wall. I got behind the line, and I think this is how it works: The line loosely corresponds to the big numbers on the wall behind the serving stations. At #1 (where the end of the line is), you order the food. Their dan(4) bing(3) is the recommended item to try, supposedly made the traditional way, thicker than other breakfast stores. They shout out the order to the kitchen while you move along. Not quite sure what #2 corresponds to (but did see people reach over me into the service area grabbing pre-packed rice balls to go). Then you reach #3 area where the lady asks what you would like to drink,( most drinks come in hot or cold), make the drink for you, ask what dish you ordered, for here or to go, then tell you how much to pay. After I got my drink and paid (Would have gotten the black tea given the name of the store, but the almond drink, yet another traditional Taiwanese breakfast item not so commonly found anymore, was just too tempting), I went and sat at a table (with condiments neatly arranged on one side). Because I didn't get a number card or tell them where I'd sit, I double checked with the lady at #1 who took my order. "We will bring your order to you," she said. And they did. The store was packed and I sat at a table way in the back, but they found me (the person who brought me the food was not the one who took the order). I was quite impressed. The dan bing (egg-pancake) I had was with bacon. You really do need to add the sauces on the table because it is very lightly flavored. I added soy paste, but later saw that most others added the red sauce, probably sweet and sour. The staff was very efficient not only with the food but also clean up. While I was there, I didn't see a table with leftover cups, plates, etc for more than a minute. I would go there again for a local breakfast experience. The food was decent (the flavor didn't stand out to me aside from it being made the traditional way, but heard that there are other must-try items), the place was clean, the price was a bargain (my breakfast of dan bing with bacon + small almond drink was 40NTD, just a bit over 1 USD.More
