Friends popped into here today at lunchtime. All they wanted was drinks and a sandwich each. How difficult would that be? Apparently impossible. The barman said the kitchen was too busy as the dining room was fully booked and they couldn't do sandwiches. What a shame as these folks were checking out local pubs to use for a lunch stop... Attractive and atmospheric pub serving very good quality informal lunches with an option to sit outside. Service with a smile and fair pricing. Nice clean toilets.

Atmosphere was lovely, very helpful and friendly staff. The pub and restaurant are clean and traditionally styled. Toilets are very clean. Food was great value for money and excellent quality, again with friendly and attentive staff. We ate at lunchtimes with family and evenings as a couple. Service was faultless

This was our first visit to The Kingfisher in which we made the journey especially to eat at lunchtime. The interior of the pub is traditional and pleasant, we both had the same special from the board which was steak and guiness pie with chips and vegetables. Whilst the portions were large both our meals were lukewarm, which was all... More

During my recent visit from NZ, I stayed for a few days with family in Colyton and we went to The Kingfisher for a meal one evening. What a very pleasant surprise. What made it special was the young staff who looked after us so very well. I was immediately impressed by Natalie who has such a bubbly personality and... More

We were in Colyton for a family gathering and decided to visit the Kingfisher for lunch beforehand. We'd never been before and wasn't sure what to expect (we hadn't read up before visiting) but the menu was on display and appeared reasonably priced and a good variety. We went in and found ourselves a table by the fire (which was... More

Unfriendly staff & manager. We were staying in Colyton for a week and on our first evening dropped in for a drink after our walk. We were told off for sitting down on some seats, (hadn't seen the reserved sign), then continued to be given an unfriendly welcome. We were asked if we were part of the party they were... More
