We decided to take my parents out for Thanksgiving rather than have them cook. We had heard raves about the Prairie Star so we got reservations and gave them a try. Unfortunately, it didn't match the praise we had heard. Although we had reservations, we had to wait thirty minutes for a table. So why make reservations? When we got... More

This was a first time here for us and our friends. We had heard the service was great and that was confirmed. We had a reservation on a Saturday night at 7:30p and finished by their closing time at 9p. Our fall weather had turned chilly so we were glad to be seated near the fire. The wine list has... More

Thank you for taking the time to share valuable feedback following your recent visit to Prairie Star Restaurant. We are truly grateful you chose our restaurant for dinner with your friends and that our service met your expectations. It sounds like you had the best seat in the house - near the fireplace. (That’s where I proposed to my wife... More

The menu was too limited for me. Prices are very reasonable and my tenderloin was really tasty. It was a bit over cooked for me, but good none the less. Close to the Hyatt where we stayed.

Thank you for visiting Prairie Star on your recent stay at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort. For our anniversary we wanted to go to a special place of dinner so we decided to try the Prairie Star. The food was excellent but a little expensive. The tenderloin was very tasty and the Salmon was also cooked very well. We had asked in our reservation for a window seat but they gave us a corner table with... More

Happy Anniversary! Thank you so much on behalf of the management and Chef Chris Olsen! What lovely compliments on your dinners and the serving staff. I am disappointed too that you could not be seated at a table with a view. The window seating is somewhat limited. The staff does try to accommodate guest requests, but the timing is sometimes... Was here for a catered limited menu large group wine tasting and dinner. Servers were helpful and attentive. Wine tasting and appetizers were excellent. Main dish was good, but not as wonderful as the description and prior courses implied. The band on the terrace (for all diners, not our group) was extremely good. Overall a pleasant evening.

we had steaks for dinner, food and service was wonderful. The view thru the windows and from the patio is stunning. We couldn't believe we were able to get last minute reservations. This place deserves to be booked solid every night.

Ordered the special that evening. Roast Prime Rib. Have never had it served "grilled". Maybe I wasn't expecting it, but not may favorite. My wife had the BBQ salmon. Somewhat cold and not really sure about BBQ on salmon. Staff was great and the view of the Sandia Mountains at sunset was great with the pink hue of them. Pricing... More

there are many roomsto this establishment.Ask to sit in the 'main room' overlooking the patio and mountains. If a Friday night expect to hear the local bands playing on the patio.the music outside will compete with the soft classical offered in the dining room! Service is very good. The food was good.

Prairie Star has a lovely dining room, and also has patio seating. The view of the Sandia Mountains is spectacular. On Wednesday evenings they offer 2 starters, 2 entrees, a shared desert and a bottle of wine for $60 ~ excellent value. Be aware that on several occasions the advertised seafood entree was sold out or not available for whatever... More

The restaurant was very good, we had the sea bass and it melted in your mouth...The atmosphere is more casual than I thought it would be. We ate dinner on the patio and enjoyed live music...Cost is moderately expensive. Overall a good choice!
