Popped in to grab a few snacks and a drink to go. Three bags of cookies: peanut butter, chocolate chip, and some other kind I don't recall. They all tasted EXACTLY the same. It was like a magic trick. If they would have tasted good, then I probably would not have minded, but they tasted like stale paste. The milky... More

Stayed here for 5 nights with my husband... great location in the old city. Probably wouldn't stay again because of the size. Can walk to the main sights or take a tuktuk which is fairly cheap as the distances are short. We stayed in room 11.. The rooms are small no space to keep a open suitcase but rooms are... More

Charcoa was a very nice experience. The rooms are comfortable (although a little cramped when you add an extra bed) and the breakfast, good quality. The coffee is also a life saver! A big shout out must go to Tu who works in reception. She was a huge help and answered all of our questions, arranged tours and generally made... More

The menu here is half Italian, half Thai with a few other random dishes. The restaurant is spread through a number of small buildings and the garden and is nicely decorated in a rustic style. Because it's all open air or has open doors it is a good idea to apply insect repellent as we saw a few mosquitos. We... More

My husband, sister, brother in law and I have just spent 5 nights here. The place was lovely, the staff very friendly and the room clean. We had the cheaper room which was fine although the shower is hand held with no screen. My sister had a dearer room with a mezzanine level for the bed and the bathroom had a... More

We enjoyed our stay in a "pantry room" which had a downstairs sitting area (with kitchenette) and upstairs sleeping area. Both are equipped with TV/DVD players, and there is a large selection of movies to borrow. Breakfast includes a buffet with a selection of mains, and a choice of excellent coffee and tea. Be aware that the stairs are quite... More

We are currently on extended stay in Chiang Mai, so we eat at a variety of places and we have returned to Charcoa House again and again and even took friends with us to share this wonderful place we had discovered. The food is amazing! We have been often enough to try several selections from pizza to sandwiches, from Pork... More

I could not stop eating. Love the food in this place. It's down a little soi (street) so watch out for it or you could miss it. It's part of a small Bed & Breakfast that has great character. The manager of the restaurant knew the menu very well and you could tell he had a passion for the place.... More

Charcoa, which is a small guest house as well as an all- day restaurant, is located in the heart of the old city, across from the moat and about 1.5 kms from Thapae Gate. But if you assume that it is typical of many eateries in that area, catering for noisy farangs at rip off prices and with unprofessional service,... More

Since 2004 the Charcoa restaurant owners opened the original Charcoa Bakery. Like the hotel, the partially open-air restaurant and bakery transformed into a charming blend of cultures after the major renovations in 2008. Stone walls, ochre colored stucco, metal grillwork, wall art, soft lighting and a profusion of greenery give the restaurant a Mediterranean ambiance. The dark wood furniture and smiling attentive service feels absolutely old town Chiang Mai. The extensive menu is multicultural too. Diverse choices range from barbecued pork ribs, Greek salad, tuna fettuccine in green curry sauce, Australian meats and assorted traditional Thai meals. The scrumptious smoothies and lassies make a perfect complement to the many baked-daily items like mascarpone blueberry cheesecake, tiramisu, and pannacotta (to name a few)
