The guys are very nice. They always made sure we had a drink in our hand.

I highly recommend getting away from Vang Vieng and hanging out at The Bank Bar as much as possible!
Isabelle and Chua are super sweet and generous hosts, know how to party and are also glad to help, give advice and recommendations for Vang Vieng, and Laos in general. This is a unique opportunity to relax in a laid back atmosphere by the lake, meet and chat with interesting characters and neighbors, and hear about the real Laos.
Also, this a really special area of Laos. The fishing village and market are the real thing, the lake is nice to swim or to take out a boat, and there are a few bungalow, villa and resort options within walking distance of the Bar. There's even an animal sanctuary practically next door! This place is highly recommended and unforgettable!! ❤️

This awesome place is totally worth the quick ride from Vang Vieng,!
We were staying in a small hotel with nice bungallows just next to the bar (don't worry its pretty much the only one nearby). On the first night their kitchen was closed so we ended up looking for food at the Bank Bar... And this is the moment we met Isabelle and Chua, the cute couple who own the place and chose this simple, happy life. At this time they didn't have a proper food menu, but they managed to save our dinner, cooking us the most delicious Pasta carbonara we ate during our whole trip through South-East Asia, using what their had in their own fridge.
We ended up spending most of our nights chilling with Chua and Isabelle, talking about life, playing card games and just getting to know each other.
The place by itself is beautiful, surrounded by nature with a very cool vibe.
This encounter will remain a strong inspiring moment of our trip, showing the beauty of random connections you can make with awesome people, anywhere, anytime.
Thank you for everything, be sure we'll come back whenever we can!
Gabrielle and I were so glad to meet you, we wish you the very best for the future :)

This is a hidden gem in Laos, Brandon and Isabelle are two awesome Canadians that are community focused and definitely know how to throw a awesome party!!!
I definitely would recommend paying the bank bar a visit!!!

A great spot to chill, enjoy the beauty, a cold Beer Lao and the slow pace of life that is Laos. Chua and Isabelle are amazingly sweet couple who will win you over with their positive vibes. Great spot!
