First ate here 27 years ago (chicken and chips in a basket) and, whilst the magic of Machaire Rabhartaigh remains largely the same outside, this place has transformed and matured inside into a sophisticated restaurant serving a wide range of delicious food, via a professional service team, at a reasonable price. Whilst part of me(the teenager) still misses the halcyon old days, even though the Guinness is as good as it ever was, it's hard to stand in the way of progress when it's as compelling as this. Take a bow Edward and the rest of your team! Looking forward to my next G when I make a call with you again!

Food was great from start until finish. Our party of 5 came away thoroughly impressed by the prawn linguini, the scallops, the steak burger, the mussels and the steaks. All top quality food (so good we went two nights in a row...) Guinness, Hop House and Smithwick's draught also excellent. Top quality service and amazing views. One to definitely visit :)

Ate here Sunday 26th and everything about our visit was excellent. The food was first class as was the service from Frances. We had the host's cheese starter which was delicious followed by mains of sausage and mustard mash and the burger with sweet potato fries both delicious. We shared the apple crumble with vanilla ice cream and enjoyed with a hint of cinnamon. The surroundings were lovely and all the staff so friendly and welcoming. This is our second visit and we can't wait to return. Thanks to everyone

First visit the Colls. I asked if they were dog friendly & was shown to an outside area, which was just perfect. We ordered Mussels to share, which we were glad of as the portion was huge, they tasted fabulous too. I had fish & chips while my husband had a steak sandwich. The fish was the best I had tasted for a long time, homemade tartar sauce accompanied the dish. The chips were fine too. The steak sandwich was tasty but it was the fish that was outstanding. The service was fast & very friendly. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

After reading the reviews we made the effort to drive there from Dunfanaghy. We booked with Edward who said he would work us in but we'd have to be outside. We re only in this area once so we had to do it. The raw oysters were among the best I've ever had==just the right amount of saltiness and so fresh. The mussels steamed in cream (and maybe tarragon) melted in our mouths. The fried cod was great too. I had vowed not to eat bread on this trip but when the treacle bread came out I just had to dip in the the mussel cream/broth. It's a local place but try to get a booking if you can.

Excellent tasty food, well presented at reasonable prices. Recommend the goat cheese and beetroot starter, the prawn linguine and sea bass main course which are all excellent. Also friendly local staff who take anti Covid 19 hygiene precautions seriously which was good to see.

This was our first time here and can honestly say it's the best sea food we have had in donegal. Excellent ambience, lovely staff, no delays and every thing we ordered available. Food was served hot and seasoned so well. Absolutely fabulous.

Great food, great menu at reasonable prices and offered by friendly staff. Arriving in the early evening on a Friday night into the area we hadn't realised all other restaurants might be full. We were 20 minutes away but was well with the visit. Highly recommended!

Stayed nearby in Gortahork. Our family have been staying in the area most years for about 30 years now but this was our first visit to Colls. I had steak the night before so had a chicken instead. Sounds boring but I never knew you could make a chicken burger so nice with such flavour, everyone else in our party of 6 had steak and it was also beautiful. Great guinness too. Staying in donegal again on 22nd Sept so will have to make our way here again. Top class.

One of the best pub food experiences, simply outstanding! Great selection of dishes including several vegan and vegetarian choices. Portion size, quality and taste were excellent, as was the Guinness and the desert. All came at a very reasonable price with fast service in a nice surrounding and the staff was very friendly and chatty. We will definitely be back!

This restaurant came highly recommended by friends and it didn't disappoint. The food and service was of the highest quality. We will most definitely be back soon and often. We dined there last night and have already recommended it to a few friends. Keep up the good work, Edward and your team.

We came here for a big family Good Friday dinner whilst on holiday. There were 17 of us from 7 to 70 years old, and each one of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We shared multiple starters, including prawns and oysters and they were fantastic. Most people had fish for mains and it was delicious and fresh. The service was good and the views from outside the pub/ restaurant were great.

Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, lovely service, lovely surroundings. What more could you ask for? We had an excellent night out in Colls. Enjoyed every bite! Then paid less than €100 for 4 meals, bottle of wine and 2 drinks. Don’t miss it!
