Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was a truly beautiful experience. The setting set next to the vineyard takes one far away from the city and the friendly and helpful attendance by the staff made it perfect. The food was delicious and to top it off they serve real expresso...in a pot at the table with a complimentary chocolate.More

What a beautiful venue - probably more the outlook than the actual building but both combined to team up well. We were one of about twenty or so customers on the balcony overlooking the vineyard and then further onto the trees to the distant Kinglake...mountains. We shared the $30 Tasting Plate. Nice but definitely a little underwhelming - not great ingredients and not very well presented. Not the worst I have had but not really well designed. From there on it is pizza or nothing. We shared a Salmon Pizza. Now I have looked at other reviews before we came here so really knew what to expect - described by others as store-bought bases with toppings only done on site. I am not sure about whether they were made on-site or not but it is definitely not pizza dough base. The bases are bread-like and are not remotely like real pizza - I really disliked their idea of pizza. My wife was not so unforgiving as she quite liked it. We ate leisurely and also bought a bottle of wine and some organic soft drinks. We were given our account. We finished and waited for the waiter to come by - for 20 minutes. So then I went inside to pay and was told to return to my table and the waiter would collect our payment. So we waited at the table for another 10 minutes or so, then accosted a different waitress to be told that we needed to pay inside, she took us inside to a different area where we presented our account, also a voucher, and my card. Now a further delay as 3 different people needed to inspect our gift voucher before taking payment. Payment in total took between 35 and 40 minutes - unbelievable. The outlook is beautiful, the food is average at best and the service is atrocious. Two stars for the outlook and a further star for everything else.More

This winery is in a lovely setting. There's outdoor dining for nicer weather but it was raining and cold the day we went so we chose to eat inside where it was warm & we could still enjoy the view through the windows. We ordered...the tasting platter for entree which was very nice then some really good pizzas. The mushroom was particularly delicious! The service was a tiny bit slow but friendly & we weren't in a rush anyway. The wine list was not extensive but enough. All in all it was a lovely, relaxed family lunch which was not too expensive, especially compared to other wineries in the region!More

This is a very pleasant spot for simple food, great service and some very nice wines. We went for Friday lunch which apparently is a little more quiet than the weekends. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the platter and the mushroom...pizza. We tasted all the wines - first by having 2x3 glass paddles with lunch on the verandah and then the remaining wines inside at the tasting bar. We particularly liked the Chardonnay, the Petit Verdot and the Old Earth Shiraz. We left with plenty of local produce including wine, olive oil and onion jam.More

Cute little location but sadly the place was very average and disconnected from its surroundings. There was no chat about the wines themselves or recommendations which was disappointing, the staff just explained that there was a selection of red and white. Also only one Nillumbik...Estate wine on the menu. The pizzas tasted good but seemed like they were pre-made bases. I wanted to love it but I was regrettably a bit underwhelmed.More

Dined for lunch on weekend, return visit after a long time. We shared the garlic pizza & lamb pizza. Both were tasty however disappointed at how thick & very hard both pizzas were & it was difficult to cut with a knife. Service friendly. Don't...know if anything has changed since our last visit but pizzas weren't as good as last time.More

This is a great find in the Yarra Valley. Delicious wine served with a lovely antipasto platter and pizza’s to die for. Friendly staff made us feel right at home and couldn’t do enough for you. The views were a bit a limited by the...drizzly weather but it is usually lovely to look over the vines to the distant ranges. Highly recommend a visit here.More

Visited Nillumbik Estate for lunch on Saturday. We arrived around 12 and decided to wing it and try and get a table on the balcony. Most tables were reserved but there was one table of two under an umbrella so we were lucky, but I...recommend to book if you do want a table on the balcony. The drive in is on a small tarred road. Takes a few kilometres to find the place but the views are nice along the way.I ordered a wine tasting paddle which was fantastic. Choice of around 15 or so wines on the paddle ,including a sparkling option. Lovely wines, the Rose' was my favourite but they were all delicious. The service was fantastic, very chilled vibe. Familys and couples. My husband wore thongs which was not a problem. Apparently they have live music on the first sunday of every month which would be lovely. The view is lovely, it is so quiet, no road noise which was so nice. We had the lamb pizza which was incredible, slow roasted lamb with onion ,tzatziki and lemon, just incredible. Also ordered a Margherita pizza which was nice. All in all a lovely experience.More

We went for Sunday lunch and were delighted with the view from our table on the outstide balcony. The wooded Northern Hills chardonnay was beautiful. The menu choices were very limited - antipasto platter, pizza or pizza or pizza or salad & dessert - another...pizza. Plus only percolated coffee so no macchiato ... Tea was available. The pizzas also were quite oily. I had Lamb pizza and would have tasted a lot better with more lamb. Also price was steep averaging $28/$30 pizza.More

We went on Sunday to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The pizzas were amazing. When we arrived our table was ready, staff very friendly, all this helped contribute to a great atmosphere. The only criticism was that it was very very hot, it needs industrial fans.

We had a really lovely family lunch here yesterday. Booked online (easy) and our table was ready when we arrived. We were greeted warmly and felt welcome with our children! We had a tasting plate and a few pizzas which we all really enjoyed and...we also did a wine tasting and ordered a case to be sent home to Sydney. There was live music and it was a relaxed place to spend a few hours. Loved the idea of the wine paddle- and went back for another glass of the Pinot. All around a great way to end our little get away to Melbourne!More

Fantastic experience at Nillumbik Estate on a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon. Enjoyed a wine tasting before our meal on the deck over looking the beautiful gully. Service was excellent, helpful and friendly! Shared some woodfired pizzas for a late lunch and enjoyed some glasses of...wine. The Shiraz was the crowd favourite! Will definitely be back and look forward to bringing many more of our friends to enjoy a casual winery lunch in a stunning setting.More
