Phone ordered 2 Lovers Combos for dinner at $35 for each Combo which included 2 x fish, 8 x calamari, 2 pineapple fritters and serve of chips. Plenty of food for our party of 4 adults and 2 young children, but for $70 we were a little disappointed with overall quality and taste. Fish was ok at best and the batter was nice and crispy though pretty oily. Calamari and chips (french fries) were obviusly prepared from their frozen supplies, and the pineapple fritters were nothing special. Given the cafe's own hype of being traditional and having an edge, very underwhelming and not a cafe I'd bother revisiting
We were told the order would be ready in half an hour after our call, so when we did arrive at the cafe we were told it would be another 5 minutes before for was ready. More than 20 minutes later it was ready

We brought the Lovers Combo..and it was a great choice. The 2 fish pieces were beautifully crumbed, and very generous in size. The calamari was so tender and delicious., also plenty for two. Some shoestring chips, plenty of lemon wedges and a small amount of aioli. Pricing was very reasonable for two ( cheaper than if we'd gone to a pub). I highly recommend.

Ok so I am a Gold Coast local, my daughter and still drive 35 minutes fir hot chips and a burger, this fish and chip shop simply are next level with the burgers as well as beautiful fresh chips. I usually have a calamari burger, but today tried a Barramundi burger, as with the usual calamari burger it was very tasty but as well the size of it is huge. If you read this post and go there and if you are disappointed, then there is simply no pleasing you. Just yummy, and filling.
I also got the twisty fries but I was defeated as the burger was filling.

The famous fish burrito was in a wrap and then deep fried which is not a burrirto. Ate the little amount filling but left the fried stuff.
The potato scallop was the smallest I have ever had (smaller than a palm hand) and at $2:50 was totally overpriced. The scallop was also not cooke through and had some raw bits.
Will never come back.

So very disappointed in our meals.
I asked for grilled calamari and got a piece of grilled cod the size of the palm of my hand $12 with a slice of lemon. The pumpkin salad had very little pumpkin, consisted mainly of rocket and had no dressing.

Visited the coast and want d some quick fish and chips before driving home. This place was recommended by a local who hadn’t been there. Ordered 2 pieces of grilled barramundi, chips and salad. We eat fish regularly and we we’re definitely served two tiny pieces of cod. It looked like cod, tasted like cod, it was fresh and pleasant but definitely not barramundi as advertised and ordered. We questioned it with the young girl serving and she said it was barramundi. I suspect they might have run out or maybe it’s the norm for them? The salad was refreshing and the chips were good.

Crispy Fish burrito - It sounded like it would be interesting as fish in a burrito, pretty good right? Well I was some what disappointed as this is what I didn't expect.
When it arrived it was a large deep fried "shell" of batter , with half the top out. And in there somewhere was the burrito, it took me awhile to see that the "wrap" was stuck to the insides of the batter. AH, pulled it apart with a fork and found some frizzled beans and a little bit of rice and bits of mushed fish.
It didn't feel like I was eating a burrito or it tasted like one as - it was somewhat disappointing as I thought it would be a piece of fried fish in a burrito .

Really disappointed with our meals. After reading such good reviews we had high expectations that unfortunately were not met.
The chips had a weird taste and were not eaten.
The one flathead fillet ($9) tasted like it was out of a frozen packet.
There was something all over the pineapple fritter (maple syrup maybe? Either way it wasn’t nice and was again not eaten)
The real potato scallops were the best out of the whole thing.

Fantastic fish and chips, a great selection of fresh salads, a selection of fish to choose from. They have the sensational twisted chips and also yummy sweet potato chips. The staff are great fun and helpful.

My partner and I drove down from the coast to visit the Cabarita beach and wanted to grab a bite. We popped into stunned mullet and ordered tacos and potato chips which were cooked beautifully. Will be coming back!

It's been two years since our last visit and it was still very good. We had the Bloody Awesome Beef Burger, crumbed Aussie calamari, crumbed deep sea cod and shoestring fries. Highly recommend.

Best barra burger I’ve ever had. Popped in for a quick snack and the quality of the burger was excellent. Freshly cooked Barra fillet (grilled but you have the option of crumbed or fried). Nice bun and healthy veges in it. Such a refreshing take on Barra burger.

I stopped in here one evening to enjoy a quick solo meal of grilled fish and salad. Staff were friendly and service 30 minutes before close (8pm) was excellent as I had my food delivered in around ten minutes. Plenty of time to sit on one of the outside tables and enjoy the tasty fish and fresh salad!
I'll be back for sure.

Fabulous fish and chips with healthy options - delicious salads and sweet potato chips. Great grilled perch and snapper. Yummy burgers too. They’d sold out of the potato scallops but apparently they’re great too. Service took over an hour due to public holiday but they very kindly offered us free drinks as compensation. Lovely employees.
