We held our wedding at the L'Abbaye de Longpont (next door to the hotel), and took over the whole village for the weekend with 90 English guests. We stayed at Hotel de l'Abbaye with ~14 guests, and couldn't have been happier with it. Benoit the owner was incredibly helpful and patient, and always went the extra mile to help everything... We have visited L'Abbaye a number of times now and always enjoy the food. The hotel is in a charming village, having Sat Nav is very helpful to get there. My wife and daughter have the l'escargot every time and although I am not fond of snails, I have to say, they smelt fantastic. Local, unpretencious but still delicious food,... More

We arrived at 1pm and there were a couple of tables taken outside. No-one was inside so the restaurant wasn't busy. However it was difficult to get someone's attention to be seated - no-one was there. Eventually someone wandered by and helped us. We ordered a simple main dish each (adults) which were cooked beautifully over the open fire just... More

Old fashioned French cooking, attentive but not insistent service. GREAT cheeses. The veal sweetbreads were canonical and delicious.

We booked on the recommendation of the B&B owner where we were staying. We were impressed on entry with the setting and initial ambience. The service was attentive. The food was good and enjoyable. The only set back was being sat next to a large group of English people who were speaking loudly and this spoilt the atmosphere. We would... More

This restaurant with a 3-star hotel (Logis de France) has been recommended to me back in the 90s and I have spent many evenings and nights there. My last visit was a week ago.In the summer you can sit outside or in the garden. The rooms are romantic but small and the restaurant has a great selection of french specialties,... More

We were the first patrons to arrive for Sunday lunch, and no, we had not made a reservation. We were told that there was only one table left that was unreserved. BUT within 20 minutes of seating us at our awkwardly placed table, two more groups entered without reservations and were seated! At better tables, too. The food was fine... More

Nice regional plates of food (both fish and meat), copious portions and superfriendly staff. Located in a beautiful small village next to an old ruin of an abbey. Recommended.

Wholesome, tasty, imaginative dishes cooked with flair and attention to detail. Horse steaks available! The rietttes de lapin and pâté de sanglier are both delicious, depending what's in season. The house Chinon is delicious and not at all tannic. Excellent selection of beers and Calvados.

Charming hotel with excellent food and service. The local cheeses were incredible. I let the waiter pick the wine and it was superb. You won't be disappointed.
