Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We didn't stay but only went for a day at their beach. We were recommended the area for snorkelling "inside of 2 hours of low tide", once the waves don't break over the reef anymore. Actually were told "at Return to Paradise resort" but that was closed that day. The snorkelling wasn't as great as elsewhere but the beach was amazing! One of the few to do an actual beach walk, at low tide. Very slowly dropping so good for little kids. One of the best fales we had (not cheap at 60T total- 10T pp, 20T for fale) but had a little protected area for food, trees for our hammock close by and the lady gave us a mat too. Unfortunately quite a bit of rubbish at the beach and in the water and no rubbish bin in sight. Would love to go again!

We drove over from the North part of the island to have lunch here, after seeing photos of this beautiful beach side restaurant. We were welcomed by the owner who was extremely friendly and interested in us, it made us feel very special! The views were as wonderful as expected, the food was affordable and fresh. We had the poke, which was delicious if you like raw fish. Two cute dogs were outside and lovely. We have them some love too.

This is a truly an off-the-grid-place. This lovely property is family owned and the Sunday seafood buffet lunch is excellent. Included are several fish dishes, several seafood dishes (including lobster and crab claws), several salads, soup, cerviche, and vegetable dishes. The beach is perfect for swimming and there is a shower and changing room available. I was on a 26 day tour visiting visiting islands and this was the meal of the trip.

In answer to the Managers reply 4 weeks ago: You state rooms cleaned with biodegradable products that do not leave chemical smells and rooms checked by supervisor after cleaning. My husband and I were present for 95% of every clean the staff did in our unit. Not once did they come in with ANY CLEANING PRODUCTS!! ALL they did was make the bed, dust off any sand on bottom sheet with towel by banding and swiping towel along the bottom sheet, change bathroom towels, rinse used cups with no detergent and dry with towel, refill coffee/tea service, wipe over coffee service area sometimes with towel dampened with water, sweep out unit with island straw broom!! NOT ONCE DID A SUPERVISOR COME AND CHECK QUALITY OF, " CLEAN SERVICE DONE ", TO OUR UNIT !! Unless that supervisor was one of the cleaners!!

My wife and I were the only ones there for most of the meal. She had chicken and chips which didn't settle well and she became sick afterwards. I had a meal which went down OK. The views were fantastic, staff friendly and with nice ambiance. Refrigeration may be questionable.

Good variety of food and great cocktails. Definitely try the fish and the Samoan dinner. Avoid the margarita. It was frozen sea water.

We stayed at the “ return to paradise” resort down the road and walked down to this restaurant twice. Simple menu, good tasty food, well priced compared to our resort and friendly service. Maybe a tad slow but out food was all cooked to order for 11 of us. All meals were lovely. Two dogs outside, extremely friendly and well fed. They were well trained not to come into the restaurant so ignore the other review.

We stayed in the over water bungalow. The accommodation is basic but with all needs covered. Breakfast each morning was a different option and was really delicious each time. The resort was incredibly private and the views from our balcony were incredible. Ezy and his team went out of their way to make sure anything we needed was supplied. We went snorkeling right outside our room every morning for the week we stayed. Some amazing ocean life right outside our door.

We booked 2 air con rooms for 3 adults and 3 children. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The fridges looked abit tired but they served its purpose. Some of the best cocktails i have had in a long time! Highly recommend the SOTBeach and pinacolada! We were there for 2 nights and 3 days so pretty much tried everything on the menu everything was delicious and tasty...our favourites were the Grilled fish of the day and the kids loved the chicken and chips (i would recommend ordering in advance for meals if you have impatient kids like me tho). Beach was beautiful but i would probably keep the kids out of the water during high tide (but thats only a small part of the day) the rest of the day we were all in the water. Staff were all friendly and accommodating.

Friendly service however they had almost none of the drinks on their menu. We ended up going into the bar with them to see what they did have. About 2 open wines and half a bottle of rum. Though they did a stella job of cooking for us all with just 2 staff on, the food was all fried from frozen muck. One bite of my "beef schnitzel" ie frozen hamburger pattie, and I spat it straight out. And sure enough spent the next morning throwing up. Skinny unhealthy dogs harassed us at the table. Im a dog lover so not being precious. Avoid this place for food.

So being from outback Australia I don’t expect that much but my god this place was the worst. It was not what it had advised with transfers and easy access to airport. Room was expensive for a bug invested villa with no power for hours or hot water. The only thing that saved it a little was the view from the restaurant. Buyer beware. Pay 30 dollars more and stay down the road at Return to Paridise. This place was rubbish.

I made a mistake with our booking. We'd already had one night in a Fale and, lovely as the experience was, I was ready for a shower and a bit of comfort the next night. So when I booked online - about $80 for a "traditional room" - I imagined all the things I think of as traditionally going with a $80 hotel room. Nothing fancy, but a bed, a door, and a light switch didn't seem too much to expect. But of course "traditional room" means a fale - a mattress and a mosquito net in a hut. It was my mistake, and rather than ask for a change of room, I just rolled with it. The waves that night were very noisy and the VERY BRIGHT lighting outside the huts remained switched on all night, so it was like trying to sleep in a shopping centre with white noise for piped music. No sleep at all for me. None. The cold shower had no shower curtain and could be viewed by anyone in the restaurant. So, no refreshing shower in the morning to set me straight. Breakfast wasn't served available until 9, and even though I BEGGED the staff who arrived at 7 for a cup of coffee, they weren't willing or able to provide it. No caffeine. Not happy. After an hour of begging, we left, so I can't comment about the breakfast. Staff were very kind, and very concerned that I hadn't had a good experience. I think they will remember to show future guests where the switch is for the lights. Dinner was good. Cocktails were good - I just should have drunk more of them.

Pretty basic rooms but the restaurant is on a deck over the beach with incredible views at all times of day, good food too. Looks like this place took a bit of a battering in the summer cyclones

This is a great little beach, especially if you like a bit of seafood. The beach is well maintained and we recommend using the restaurant service that will bring food and drinks down to your Fale, just remember to hang any food up your not eating or the cheeky (but very friendly) beach dogs will help themselves. There is a beach volley ball area, showers, toilets and a fully stocked bar and restaurant with spectacular views of the lagoon, that many people just go to without even using the beach. Our daughters (7&8) spent the day swimming and playing with the local kids looking for blue seastars and building sand castles on the coral white sand. We've been back several times and used the elevated restaurant which serves an all you can eat seafood buffet every Sunday for 40 tala per head. Oh if you eat at the restaurant you can use the beach and fales for free otherwise you pay $50 tala to park and enter the beach.
