We stopped for coffee on our way to Invercargill as it had been recommended by a local. The museum had quaint and interesting memorabilia and some excellent value local honey to buy. The loo was equally old fashioned with instructions on how to flush. The coffee and cakes were delicious and service was friendly and efficient. Well worth a visit... More

Been looking forward to this visit so much so that I'm coming back tomorrow. I ordered the lemon meringue pie and an apple strudel washed down with my usual mocha. It was all wonderful. The staff were nice and chatty with clean toilets. Plenty of display items to look at. Sunshine day in the south so what else can one... More

This café has everything it should. Great meals, cakes, pies, savouries and old favourite cakes. I had a mini quiche which was fresh, moist and tasty. Also had an apple strudel with lashings of fresh whipped cream and a latté. Will come again tomorrow.

WE went by the place about 10 a.m. looking for breakfast. We went in, not sure it was open, and the lady greeted us and was very welcoming and friendly. We asked if we could get breakfast and she said sure, what would you like. She cooked us two very good New Zealand breakfast meals and we had a good... More

Stopped over for a rest and found this gem. Interesting display and the lady at the shop recommended lemon meringue pie which was really excellent, not too sweet and just Too Good you will want another helping!

Having read positive reviews we specially stopped here for lunch, and were very disappointed. I chose a Cornish pastie, which I couldnt eat, it was nothing like a Cornish pastie, and shouldnt be called by this name ( wrong ingrediants ). Soggy pastry, no potato at all and corn of all things in it, and the rest of the filling... More

What a great place to stop of any time of the day, we called in at lunch time and after spending 30 minutes looking at the great collection of items from time ago we ordered some food. The owner is the cutest lady who clearly has a passion for cooking, baking and looking after her customers. Had a great chat... More

Stopped in this roadside museum-cum-cafe, run by a lovely old lady. We had a good chat about the affairs of the world, while we perused the hundreds of exhibits of household goods, bits and bobs. Her family photos were there, too, right from the turn of the 20th century. Hugely interesting. The cafe can get pretty busy, but it is... More

Driving from Manopouri to Invercargill there aren't many options to eat. At first we saw the Yesteryears sign by the street, today's special and a lot of antiques on the sidewalk. We went past but something told me there was something good inside. We made a u turn and found where to park. Made it in, saw the amazing collection... More
