Dropped in here for the Monday buffet.. Only to find that it was not available due to the lack of clients .. Corona Virus.. I asked if we could order a la carte and receive a discount and our server agreed!!
I had a beef vindaloo very good, not hot to my standard but very tasty and beef was so tender... Lemon rice very tasty too, good mix of spice and flavour, also had a garlic naan, this was a little soggy.. So would not recommend.
Service was OK, our server needs to attend smiling class, but other than that I would recommend.
We did receive a 20% discount in lieu of the non buffet.. overall a good experience.

Found the food to be very average.. We love Indian foods so decided to try out a new restaurant.. I have heard a lot of good comments, but all 4 of us were very disappointed. It was a very busy night !

This is our go-to local Indian take-away because they serve the most mouth wateringly, delicious Butter Chicken, Lamb Rogan Josh, Vegetable Korma and Coconut Rice - it's lovely. We've eaten at many Indian restaurants and Indian Mahal is outstanding for food quality. If you love Butter Chicken like we do, then add this place to your list.

Terrible delivery service. Third time we have had an issue, but tonight takes the prize as the worse experience.
Ordered a 5.55pm, still waiting at 7.20pm. Called to find out our food had been delivered to wrong address and we hadnt been informed, but absolutely no offer of compensation.
Food eventually arrived at 8.20pm with a naan missing and no apology at all
I will not be returning, which is sad, as the food is always very good

We have eaten at Indian Mahal regularly for a long time but our recent meal there, each dish seemed to be of the next level. They have a new chef and the owner seems to be making some dishes in a slightly different, perhaps Nepalese style, but our dishes were superb.
We started with the samosas (which are freshly made on the premises and we can’t go past) with tandoori prawns as an entree. The prawns were succulent, coated in a light tandoori marinade with vegetables similarly marinated and baked in the oven. Very tasty.
For the main dish we had the goat curry (a favourite of my husband’s) and the spinach and cottage cheese (palak paneer). Each dish tasted freshly made, the meat was so succulent and tasty we thoroughly enjoyed the night.
The service was prompt. We were advised the prawns would take a little time. But it wasn’t too long.
We love their naan bread, but need to avoid it unfortunately for health reasons, but would also recommend it.
We love the table settings, the staff and the drinks.
Very impressed. We will be back.

Ordered my Indian food to be delivered last night. It was delivered promptly around six on a Saturday night-wow!- and the food was delicious and with generous servings. The entire order was correct, with a complimentary serving of pappadums plus dipping sauces which was very appreciated. Their online ordering system was very easy to use and to make amendments when necessary. They have a $5 flat fee for any delivery, so it makes meal time easy for when you don’t feel like driving to pick up food. I shall return, Indian Mahal

Should have listened to the earlier reviews - the delivery service was appalling. Order lost and after a phone call after waiting 2.5 hours for the food to arrive was told it would be another half an hour. Ordered at 6pm and arrived just after 9pm. No apology from the restaurant which was appalling.
While the food is OK, it is not worth ordering given the service. A shame in the current climate but there are much better Indian restaurants in local vicinity so best support them.

Ordered a takeaway which arrived cold and late . Completely inedible ..bland despite requesting the curries be medium hot . Meat as tough as old boots and nan like rubber. Whole lot went straight in the garbage . Complained to manager who kept passing the buck ..not interested . Never again .

I’ve been going to this restaurant for over 10 years. Once again, they’ve failed miserably with their customer service. I’ve ordered a meal through Menulog and 2 and a quarter hours later, Neal still not here. Rude, abrupt arrogant young bloke wanting me to cancel orders and understand what is going on. We’ll, I don’t and shouldn’t have to. If Indian Mahal and Menulog have a communication problem, sort it out !!!! I just want my order.
I beg all of you who are considering ordering a meal : DON’T. Ten years of mess is enough. Give them the widest birth possible.

Once again, ordered on line. Due at a certain time. Get there to pick up because can’t trust delivery ( tried many times ) and of course hadn’t even started. Staff, as usual couldn’t care. Got refund and had pizza instead. Why can’t they get it right ? Give them a miss. This is 10 times in a row and we dine there regularly as well ? Seriously, give ‘em a wide berth. I’ve really tried to stay with them as their food is tasty, but enough is enough!!!

After ordering at 6:20pm we received a notification that our order had been cancelled at 7:30pm.
After calling the restaurant we received no apology and a pathetic explanation that they had no drivers.
… won’t be ordering from here again.

We booked a table for 3 for 6.30pm Saturday night. (We booked early to coordinate with a hospital visit later.) Table service was poor. Orders taken and entrees arrived promptly, but a 90 minute wait for the mains. In that time, dirty plates/cutlery remained, no drink orders takwn or water replaced. We noticed there seemed to be a preference for take away orders, with lots going out the door!
When the mains finally arrived (aftet 90 mins) they were cold and had to be taken away for reheating.
While the food was tasty, the delay and poor service took the edge off it.
Indian Mahal has been around long enough now and still seems well patronised. (...being the only Indian place in the area probably helps). Still, one would have expected them to be better organised.
Very disappointed. (and we missed the hospital visit).
