On entrance, the staff made us feel welcome, showed us to our table and explained the menu in detail. Food was delivered promptly each of us having different options. We enjoyed our food with only minor niggles, but insufficient to lessen the star rating. My...niggle was raw onion with the salmon. Must be an Australian thing that everything must be accompanied with raw onion, eugh. Overall, a lovely lunch, the wood fire adding to the ambience and aura. Good food good staff and good friends made this memorable.More

A short scenic country drive to Mt Mee and we were at Birches. We called ahead to ensure there was availability. It was a Saturday so they let us know it was a set menu with a minimum order, which was fine. The menu had...so many delicious meals to choose from, it was hard to decide. We sat outside, but as it had screens, we were not cold. The service, friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff was exceptional. The food, delicious! We have already booked to go again and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a relaxing day out with beautiful scenery and food to make your mouth water.More

Only a short (30 minutes or so) drive from sea level up to a gorgeous, leafy spot in the hills. Sit on the verandah with a view down to the ocean while you decide which yummy, innovative dishes to try. Highly recommend the pork belly...with scallops and the Malaysian curry with MortenBay bugs. Service matches the venue and the food. All Excellent.More

How lucky we were many years ago to discover this delightful restaurant amongst cattle farms with sweeping views over Moreton Bay and a picture perfect little church opposite. In winter months, the central fireplace crackles its welcome and warmth only surpassed by the welcome from...the owners and staff, unchanged over the years. A restaurant so good, staff stay. Breakfast, lunch or Dinner will not leave you feeling hungry, this restaurant believes in generous portions and doggy bags. Without exception, the quality is consistent and delicious, the menu varies slightly seasonal to season but with dishes perfected like this, why change. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant, you won’t be rushed like many others . For my husband, family and friends, it’s like bringing them home.More

Lovely lunch amongst the trees- entertaining visitors with a drive up to Mt Mee. Delicious lunch - professional service. Only comment was the string flavoured chilli sauce overpowered the delicate flavour of Moreton Bay Bugs. Chocolate dessert to die for and coffee was brilliant

A gem of the Moreton region. Staff were knowledgeable about their menu and service was great. Had the chowder and partner had the lamb pot pie. Lovely location and warm fire on a cold day. Tops.

We enjoyed dinner at Birches for our 5 year anniversary immensely. Such a beautiful and comfortable atmosphere - everyone was so welcoming and friendly and it is very clear they truly care that you enjoy every moment of your time there. The menu is gorgeous...and the only struggle you will have at Birches is trying to decide what to order! Meal portions are very generous and we were blown away by how delicious everything was. Happy with the price too. We will be back!More

This is a beautiful restaurant with tranquil tropical views, however the menu for breakfast is a set menu for $25 per person, the menu has several choices and includes a hot or cold beverage. I chose the Farmers big breakfast consisted of bacon, eggs (cooked...to your liking) seeved on Turkish, grilled tomato, hash brown, mushrooms and sausages with a relish, you can add extras for an extra cost. I did not enjoy my meal, the bacon was dry and tough, the mushrooms were terrible, supposed to be button mushrooms but the taste was disgusting and I could not eat them the other guests at the table also complained about the taste of them. I told the waitress about my concerns and she apologised, when I went to pay I also told the person taking our payment she said no one else has complained and was abrupt and rude, have been here before and enjoyed our meal, too many restaurants in the area to go back there again.More
