Excellent service, beautiful setting in the middle of the lightened spa pool area at Banyan Tree and absolutely amazing food. The four of us tried most of the dishes on the menu and everything was fantastic, with the grilled scallops and the Kobe beef teriyaki as the absolute highlights of the evening. The Kobe beef was prepared at the table... More

Food: 3/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance 2/5 Restaurant visit. This is a Japanese restaurant at a 5* hotel. Hotel decor was tired and unimaginative. Setting was poolside with too bright lights and fake candles which shifted in colour by each bite. Food was nor impressive or bad. Service was attentive. Red wine by the glass was cold -and served in a... More

Quite (unpleasantly) surprised at the quality of food. Ordered Kobe beef for USD100, but it didn't taste like anything special, the Sushi (rainbow roll) was not anything better then other mid-range Japanese resto in Phuket. A big disappointment.

With our French speaking Thai friend Jacques we indeed always enjoyed the sushi, sashimi and teriyaki combos which our kids ate out whilst we hoped for some rest. This happened 5 times in 2 weeks despite the nice deserts we could enjoy. Go there and try the Rose from France; really epic! Afterward you sleep as if did not get... More

We enjoyed a fabulous meal at Tamarind, Banyan Tree during our visit to the Laguna Area. When we arrived at the hotel we were a little confused and disappointed as the Tamarind dining area was actually close, however the same menu was on offer in the lobby restaurant called Saffron. This was not really explained until after we were seated... More

The restaurant has a zen-centred peaceful outdoor atmosphere at night created with the waterside surroundings of the fountain/pool. There is a comprehensive selection of Japanese cuisine. The sashimi and sushi are of excellent quality; however, I was horrified to see that crabstick was presented as part of the deluxe sashimi platter priced around TBH3000: this was a disgrace. On the... More

The restaurant is situated near to the lobby area in the beautiful Banyan Tree Hotel in the Laguna area of Phuket and the decor reflects that of the hotel. This means very peaceful, restrained and natural styling with lots of plants, water and fans not air conditioning. We ordered a mixture of sashimi and tempura and this did not disappoint.... More
