We come to the Stag at least 3 times a year for family and birthday meals. Goods always great and reasonably priced. Never had a bad experience here.

Visited here for a number of meals at lunchtime and have never been disappointed. Good food, interesting but not wildly exotic menu, but very good standard fayre. Odd reaction to preparing gluten-free food. Gluten Free bread available but unwilling to serve with brie and bacon, or any filling other than cheddar cheese! How does that work?

Felt very welcome. Comfortable atmosphere. Had a couple of drinks in here whilst waiting for a table in the restaurant, you can eat in this area which we will do next time x

We turned up at the Stag, not realising it was so popular. Although there was no room at the inn, well the restaurant actually, we were invited to take a meal in the Stag Bar. We could still enjoy the wonderful carvery with the best, most plumpest profiteroles I've ever tasted for dessert. Wonderful service and atmosphere. No wonder it... More

I have been told to go here by my family member for a carvery so we did, very standard and the beef wasn't till my liking but ok if your hungry. No mint sauce or mustard which I know there isn't lamb but I have mint sauce with all my roast dinners and always have been on display at other... More

Went here for a birthday meal with the family and the food was excellent and the service was excellent aswell. We opted for the carvery and so much to choose from and lovely and fresh.

We visited late afternoon in between Christmas and New Year. We didn't expect the place to be very busy, it was however, reasonable busy. Carvery looked amazing, but as it was so busy - we decided to eat from the normal menu. There is a decent selection from the menu, they do have a separate children's menu and we found... More

Visited the coffee lounge with friends for a catch up but was a bit disappointed! The tea was weak and insipid and the scones and cakes over priced! The staff behind the bar were cold and unwelcoming they need to train the young staff that the "resting b**** face" whilst a savvy look on street does nothing to encourage customers to... Had a lovely lunch here on the way back from the english whisky company. The carvery was fully booked for lunch so we went to the bar to order from the menu there. It was nice and quiet in the bar with plenty of space, you could eat without having to worry about touching your neighbour. We were slightly disappointed... More
