This family owned restaurant makes the most tasetefull dishes, we went back 3 times in one week. Well priced too. Friendly and helpfull. A must for anyone that is close to the area.

We stopped because “inspired” by the name 🙂, but we came back two consecutive nights! Excellent grilled fish, delicious tempure, very well made pineapple rice. They don't have Pat Thai and mango with rice but we got the sun at the nearby market. Very kind staff and Thai prices.

The hygienic food of this restaurant and the tasty as well asrelated to the food price regarding to the food menu is slightly different but the managers set price at 10 but not update in the food menu I will say ok thank you had your food quality is very cool

Family has too much salt

Friendly staff. Have while fish, good but very, very salty, fried rice very salty too. If you go I reccomend you ask for low salt. Food would be much better. Pizza looked and tasted like frozen box pizza. At $10 is was overpriced as well. It was not salty, therefore adds to my belief that it was not made by restaurant. Mediocre cocktails.

We went here thinking it was still in business, but it had closed down. A new place took over - though the prices were a bit high (we ordered chicken wings, fries and spring rolls) the food was great! The place is called PR restaurant now. Heads up

The Family Restaurant is a little bit away from the main road, but still good to reach. The owners are really friendly and there is a good variety of dishes. I had Morning Glory with crispy pork. Tasty and the pork was crispy. Nice flavors and good value. Nothing outstanding, but definitely worth a visit. Can recommend.

The reason Thailand is wonderful

I came to this restaurant very late at night with no others open, very hungry and not hopeful about finding anywhere. They were absolutely lovely. They did everything to help me with whatever I wanted (which was fussy vegetarian options) and it tasted fantastic. A genuine family restaurant, with brothers and sister serving. Wonderful people and wonderful food.

Good Authentic Thai Restaurant

After reading quite a number of reviews, my wife and I decided to give this restaurant a try. We ordered the Yellow curry with chicken and pineapple, Kale with crispy pork, fried omelette with prawns and steamed rice. The food was of good authentic Thai home cooking quality. The prices are reasonable and good value for money. The place is quite small, so not suitable for large groups. Will visit again to try out other dishes.

We loved had chicken, salmon, some noddles and everything was absolutely amazing. The large portions are actually HUGE. The “family” people are so friendly and they welcomed us very well. The cold towels are amazing!!! Loved it ❤️

Best Thai curry’s in Thailand!

If you are after great authentic Thai food, then The Family Restaurant is incredible!! From the outside it looks quite small but it’s an amazing place to sit, eat good food and watch the world go by! There are many restaurants in Kata, but some very hard to get good quality and good value authentic Thai food. Our tip is to find the small local family run restaurants (like this one) and you won’t be disappointed! We visited The Family Restauant a number of times and each time was amazing- probably the best Thai curry’s we’ve had in Thailand (the massaman is particularly good)! Staff were lovely and very hospitable. The food (we only ate Thai food) was out of this world amazing, and the price was very good value! If we return to Kata, we will certainly be visiting The Family Restaurant first!

Great food and service!

This is as it say a family restaurant and the parents work here during the time the kid is in school. Great food, big portions, not expensive (since Phuket) excellent friendly staff and very helpfull and talking care of guests. This is a small restaurant with only 12p to sit in, so if you are a Big family i advice you to call them first and make a booking for eating. Several diffrent food and thai food to choose from in the meny, also drinks, desserts, cocktails. We would come back again and This is for us a great small restaurant a little bit away from the big street in Kata but very good. So dont miss This place go EAT here! 4stars. (Can have small children here, but Main road just outside so watch out. Walking distance from Dino park is about 10min)

Great Value Restaurant for Authentic Thai Food

Visited with my husband and three children. Staff were lovely and attentive. Good choice of Thai food as well as some sandwiches, steak and pasta dishes. Very cheap to eat here and the food was tasty and well presented.

Came in for a quick lunch. Food was tasty service was good. Air conditioning in the restaurant which was great as it was a hot day. Would recommend to others.

Came here for dinner. Food was not bad, the service wasn't bad too. Reasonable prices for the food we ate. I struggled to find parking for the car, the waitress kindly came to show me the way. It was a bit inconvenient for us with a 10monyh old baby because there isn't space for her to crawl and play but other than that we enjoyed our dinner. We will definitely return.

Hidden Gem

We went on a friend’s recommendation- did not disappoint! We ordered Massaman beef, Pork and Morning Glory, Yellow curry and Garlic bread. Everything was DELICIOUS Definitely a local secret - the take away business is doing very well - so if you are a larger party you may need to call and book. Thank you beautiful family
