Visited the Ruam Thep Restaurant a couple of times during my recent visit to Phuket and loved it...... Its located right on the beach in Karon and you can't get a better view... The staff are friendly and reasonably attentive. The food was nice and reasonably priced..... Its a little bit of a hidden gem but I highly recommend it.

Do not eat here. Got served drinks with no alcohol in them. When we complained they added it in and charged us for the shots we never got in the first place.

Well we visit here everyday for one month. We are looked after daily By the staff and everyday we eat breakfast and lunch, great prices, great beer and great service, we have been here for 11 years and will continue as long as we visit, beat pad Thai on the island for me x

I came in for lunch as it's right next to the beach. The view is great obviously due to its positioning, but sadly the food is terrible and really expensive. 700THB for 2 beers, a sandwich, and a local Thai dish. That's about £16. The sandwich was small with hardly any filling. Chips were 140THB, that's £3.20 for a small... More

Sea food noodles packed with seafood for 120baht! Great view and excellent value for a beach setting. Knocked spots off some of the pretentious venues - if you can see past the lack of designer furniture. Staff looked a bit glum, but there faces lit up if you engaged with them. Recommended :)

We sat across the road the night before & thought this place looked awful & deserted. We decided to investigate the next night & to our surprise it was busy, bus. You enter from what looks like the back & the restaurant spills out over a beautifully lit beach. Food & drinks very good, atmosphere excellent. We were greeted by... More

Whilst the view was great and the food mediocre Thai, the attitude and service level of the staff was some of the worst we have ever encountered. We were treated the best compared to the neighbouring table, where the service level was absolutely horrendous. The food was not presented and wrongly placed. Nobody seemed to bother answering questions of any... More

I agree with some of the other reviews. We had lunch here once, which was enough. Very untypical service for Phuket - rude and disinterested. It seems the proprietor is only interested in making money. I saw him being incredibly rude to two holiday makers who dared to try to access the beach through his restaurant. Our table had a... I had a decent meal here, nothing too exciting compared to the other great restaurants in the area. However, the view was amazing. This restaurant has the best location right on the water. Grab a table outside, grab a drink, and enjoy the view with some good food.

We didn't eat at this restaurant so cannot comment on the food but we had drinks here twice in a week long stay. We sat outside right on the beach and watched the sun set both evenings....when it got dark the palm trees were lit with lights which gave it a great atmosphere! The staff were very attentive and friendly... More
