Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pré du bonheur was recommended to us and we were delighted we ate there. Fantastic value for money and you won't leave hingry. Service was always with a smile and good humoured. We returned a second time. There's a great choice of dishes made using...fresh traditional regional produce à la carte, including some of our favourites. There were two three course set menus to choose from. €25 and €33. I went for the €33. Good choice of drinks including pre-dinner cocktails, a good very reasonably priced wine list. I had the salade de gésiers de canard, the salade des Pyrénées (smoked trout with Bethmale cheese and foie gras), côte de veau Ariégeois, pave de truite des Pyrénées The portions are very large and filling. That would be one, perhaps questionable, criticism.More

Our friend took us to this lovely restaurant near the Fountaine de Fontestorbes. First of all, the setting is lovely. The restaurant is surrounded by trees and mountains. The large rear deck is the perfect place to dine while enjoying nature. And the food! Well,...I can't say enough about how much each of us enjoyed our selections. Three of us shared a delicious salad that was enough for four as a starter. My partner had the menu, and his salad was most interesting. There was a yummy sauce on the side with an egg in it and which was accompanied by toast sticks for dipping. Three of us had the pave of trout. Not only was it beautifully prepared, and accompanied rich potatoes dauphinoise, there was a copious amount of trout. My partner ordered the steak, and it was perfectly cooked and very flavorful, as were the frites. Although we hardly had room for dessert, we shared a fruity toramisou, followed by coffee. Our server was attentive and recommended dedicated a wine from the Arriege, which was the perfect accompaniment for our meals. Every dish was perfectly seasoned and delectable. We look forward to returning soon, and highly recommend this sweet restaurant in the beautiful Arriege countryside.More

Delicious food and good service located in a charming garden at Fougax-Et-Barrineuf. The staff were very helpful and happy to accommodate my gluten free requirements.

The food was decent but nothing special, service was alright but not particularly efficient, overall the experience will not stand out in any way.

Visited for dinner - we had to book due to Covid-19 social distancing measures. We do not eat meat so ordered seafood and a vegetarian tart. All the food was delicious. Ordered the apple tart and ice-cream for dessert - amazing!

The Hosts of our apartment 15min away from the restaurants told us about it. They told us that the owner changed, they tried it out for lunch and would recommend it to us. They reserved us a table 3 days in advance and now the...best for me: They told he restaurant, that I‘m a vegan and the restaurant responded that they will prepare a vegan menu for me. Never had that in a traditional french restaurant before! We sat outside on the terrace between locals, surrounded by nature calmness. My friends ate both the 28€ menu with starter (3 options), main dish (7 options), cheese and dessert (4 options) and they both loved it! Stuff was really friendly as well - we can recommend it!More

This was a real find. We got a table outside in the shade. It was full of locals having Sunday lunch (always a good sign). The reception and service was very friendly and the food as good as we had hoped for.

We had driven past many times and not really noticed it hiding at the side of the road. Only when we were looking for somewhere to eat close to home did it come up on our search and we decided to try it. We spent...a long time exploring the beautiful gardens/park the restaurant is situated in. There is a small lake, lots and lots of trees and a mini golf. The view of the hills is lovely and there is an outside terrace. The food is local, well made and well presented and the owners who served us were lovely. We will definitely return.More

We were there in a very warm evening and sat outside on a terrace overlooking the valley. Helpful and friendly service. I chose trout (bio) from the local trout farm which was excellent and for dessert a delicious chocolate mousse. A carafe of good house...wine only five euros!More

Extremely good local restaurant, in the evening choice of 2 menu at 20 or 28 Euros, or a la carte. On opting for the 28 Euro menu, I chose foie gras presented two ways "nature" and pan fried, delicious! main course fillet steak with wild...mushroom sauce and it was cooked to perfection (French medium) with potatoes gratinee and ribbon courgettes. Small assiette of 2 local cheeses came next and choice of dessert. We chose a locally made nougat ice cream made from sheeps milk, sooo good. Our wine choice was a local Ariege wine for 15 Euro as bottle which was most acceptable. Good friendly efficient service, we are going again to celebrate an anniversary in a fortnight!More

An evening meal seated in front of cheerful log fire with friends from local gliding club. Small but sufficient choice of good value menus plus wine and very friendly service and well cooked food. Also one of the rare chances to buy the locally produced...Sambuc elderberry aperitif. Intend to eat here again, next time with my wife!More

Great family run restaurant, very accomodating good food and wines. Not much choice of restaurants in Fougax so lucky this is a good one. Two log burners riaring away keeping the place cosy. Cant wait to go back.

Being Autumn, and a Wednesday night there is not much open in this area for evening dining. We were recommended to go to this restaurant and we weren't dissapointed. Although we were the only people there, the fire was going and the welcome was warm...and friendly. There was a good menu and although a couple of things were unavailable there were plenty of others to choose from. Between us we had warm goats cheese salad, salted Portugese cod, gambon with scallops, Creme brûlée, all cooked very well. We tried our not such good French out on the owner and she was very nice and chatted to us, giving us lots of information on the area etc. Overall the quality of the food was excellent and after eating lots and being treated to a very strong plum Eau devie, by Madame we left feeling very happy! I'm sure that in the summer it is just as good to eat at and would be very busy. The price is good and the service great.More
