So living down here I am sceptical of restaurants in the Port. I lt was recommended to me and so I tried it. Juan, a Madrileno, runs it as he has for nearly 30 years!!! Is very friendly. Anyone who has read my reviews knows I love a curry. The best ever being The Regency Club London. Well this place... More

Ate here for dinner recently with the gf. The location is fantastic and a great spot for people/car/yacht watching. The food is really tasty and presentation is top quality. Staff are really friendly and are at hand to answer any questions re the menu. Prices are fine. Would def recommend for a nice Indian feed.

After a week of eating fish we really wanted something spicy. We ordered a mixed grill for starters which was really good. For mains a lamb madras and prawn vindaloo, both to die for and never had as many king prawns in a curry! Poppadoms were lovely too. Highly recommend!

Mumtaz is a stylish modern indian restaurant in a great location - beside the marina in puerto banus. Superb Indian food which is presented very well. Waiters are efficient and friendly. A wonderful lumch tine dining experience. Only negative comment Is the space between tables- they are quite tightly packed !

Mumtaz in Puerto Banus used to be a good restaurant. We have been going there for years. "Used to be" because it has gradually slipped to the point where it's best avoided. Poor food, an arrogant Maître'd and sky-high prices. This has turned into a real evening-spoiler. Find another, better, Indian restaurant and you will leave far happier people -... More

Our second visit here, first last year was really quite nice excellent scenery over looking the harbour, however our visit this April, was a little disappointing food ok, tables far too close together to a point you can actually rest on the table next to you, personally I think they should take a few tables out to create a more... Ok ! 25 Euro for a basic bottle of vino de la casa was a bit rich for a curry house from Bradford ! Popadoms with pickle tray ! Mmmmm , not impressed ! They were like the microwave Tesco ones where only parts get cooked ! Not like the fresh deep fried ones you expect . The curries ,... More

We've recently returned from a holiday in the Puerto Banus area & visited Mumtaz for dinner on two occasions. The food was absolutely fantastic. The chicken tikka masala & murg makhani were delicious & our main courses were up there with the best Indian food that we've tasted. The service was excellent & the staff were very attentive & friendly.... More

Description
For more than 30 years, this renowned restaurant continues to be instrumental in changing the perception of Indian cuisine in the heart of Puerto Banús. Mumtaz is recognised for its classic combination of indisputable knowledge, unique experience and tradition. The restaurant offers guests a sophisticated fine dining experience with naturally charming staff, discreet service and tantalising food that few can compete with, ensuring that guests come back for more. Mumtaz's fare is derived from traditional Moghul cuisine, focusing around the Tandoor oven, where bread, fish and meat are all cooked in the authentic North-West Indian style. In addition to the conventional and established Mumtaz favourites, executive chefs Chandan Singh and Mikbal regularly devise new dishes to keep the menu innovative, modern and up to date. Mumtaz also has a vast and superior wine list, with a fantastic selection of wines from around Spain.
