Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Superb experience for the degustation menu with matched wines. Fabulously romantic setting and the service was exceptional

It would be hard to find a more romantic dinner than this. The setting in what was the stables in a former life was beautifully decorated and candle lit. The evening started with a complimentary drink/champagne which you could enjoy outside on the attractive grounds....The well-spaced courses were exceptionally well-prepared from high quality ingredients. The service was spotty. Although well-staffed, the attentiveness was lacking and for a prolonged evening, which we thoroughly enjoyed, the presence and helpfulness of the servers wasn't commensurate with the quality of the rest of the experience.More

I had a bad experience today at dinner, more than $200 a horrible experience, there were 2 Corse menus and 1 kids menu (pasta with sauce without grease and they didn't bring you dessert after 30 minutes, we got up, paid the bill and left,...at the Corse menus: Entree, 3 bland starters, mostly Variations de Corn and the Souther Calamari was tender, but with weird sauces that didn't go together, Main menu, terrible, ordered a Grass Fed Beef Ramp, asked about the point of the meat, it came totally different , I complained and they changed the dish, they brought Barramundi, fish cooked correctly but the accompaniments did not match each other, too acidic. I definitely do not recommendMore

HUGE BILLS, tiny portions. This place is a scam. They charge ridiculously high prices and serve NOTHING in return. The only thing this restaurant is good at is ripping all its customers off.

What a place!! We were lucky enough to have a beautiful quaint wedding there last weekend. The Chapel, Dairy and Stables is just stunning, a rustic Tuscan establishment with stunning views, impeccable food and great staff. I can honestly say that we couldn’t have asked...for a better day and wished it never ended.More

Came here for a wedding. Location and views were stunning, well maintained buildings and surrounds. Food was incredible as was the service! I can honestly say it was the most friendly, pampered experience I’ve ever received.

a lovely Yarra Valley location and set in a delightful stable with beautiful garden surrounds , young enthusiastic staff both knowledigble and after so many weeks of covid lockdowns pleased to serve and make a memorable luncheon a set menu at about -$70 head but...we elected for the extra desserts, a Moët and just acted more so it’s more like $170 head but the food and experience worth it the chefs use of some unique ingredients , presentation and just enough on each plate kept us engaged and looking forward to the next course a definite returnMore

I came for dinner with 2 friends as I was contemplating booking the Stones at Yarra Valley as a wedding venue. I ordered the degustation menu but was most disappointed. We didn't enjoy it. Service was good.

As part of our regular partners catch up, this restaurant was arranged. The room is lovely, inviting and warm. The view across the grapes is spectacular. For our group we shared the great food and any one with food allergies was well catered for. The...wine list is also very good. The whole site is very beautiful with plenty of venues / cafe / restaurant for special functions or a cup of coffee and beautiful views across valley.More

We went as a group of 10 and had the tasting platter menu which is 6 different plates. We were given 2 platters of each meal to share between the 10 of us. The serving sizes were very small. The menu includes 3 different types...of salad therefore the food was not filling. We asked for bread and were told no as the bread was only for the cheese platter. After lunch we went elsewhere and bought food as we left hungry. Although the food was nice, it wasn’t worth the $65/personMore

We went for lunch with friends, the place and ambience was awesome. We had a set menu and whilst the food was great the portions for the Entree and Main were quite small. We got a couple of cheese plates for desert and they were...massive and very tasty. The service was good and the staff were attentive, would differently return for the ambience but not the food alone.More

Always a pleasure to write about a restaurant that never disappoints. Probably our 6th or 7th visit over a 10 year period, spent a weekend in the Valley, Elton John concert Friday night, The Stables Saturday night , a great combo. Again went for the...7 course degustation with matching wines. Stand out features were; the knowledge of the serving staff about both the food and the wines, quality of the presentation on the plate, quality of the food, variety of the food, variety of the wines. I'm a bit of a foodie in an amateur way, I'm giving The Stables 11 out of 10. Simply cannot wait to return. Outstanding!More

Horrible experience, the portions of the set menu were so small that the plates did not have enough to feed the whole table despite being charged the full price. Awful staff and service. Would never return

No, no dress code at all. We went smart casual but we went there on summer when it was really hot and there were two other couple whose ladies wore nice summer dress (but not too summery) and their partners are shorts.
