Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have never left a review before but feel compelled to warn people. We stopped by for a quick family lunch between Mt Buller and Melbourne. DO NOT GO for the schnitzels. They were microwaved from frozen reconstituted chicken-look schnitzels. The weirdest I have ever...seen, with fake charring. Unless covered with a topping. The burger was a wafer thin patty, over cooked, in a jumbo stale bread roll with uncooked French fries. The whole experience screamed of a very lazy kitchen, and the quality of the ingredients or lack thereof certainly didn’t represent value for money. It didn’t help there was a baby on a mobile phone with his kids show blaring louder than the loud music. Maybe the pizzas or steaks are a better option but we won’t be back.More

Had a family meal with 8 and they were happy for us to share plates and cater for one with allergies. Drinks were great per usual.

We chanced upon the brewery when looking for somewhere chilled & unpretentious for dinner & it definitely delivered! The staff were all friendly and very accommodating, happy to answer any questions about the menu and delivered service with a smile and a side of humour!!!...We both ordered Parmy’s, mine a pulled pork and hubby’s traditional! I opted for a mojito cider and hubby a traditional apple cider - he’s a traditional kinda guy!!! The food was plentiful and delicious and the cider so smooth and bonus served in pints!!! Unfortunately we drove but next time we’ll be sure to not be Des so we can truly appreciate it’s splendour… Another bonus is the takeaway brewery treats - again they couldn’t be more accommodating in ensuring we had exactly what we wanted, including a souvenir glass to authenticate our at home brewery experience! Just wishing you were a little closer to home so we could be seasoned regulars!!! To summarise great food, great service and at a price that won’t have you sobbing into your cider! We’ll definitely be back… watch this space!!!More

We’ve dined here several times over the years and have always enjoyed it. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and the food, beer, and wine is usually top notch. Today the staff, beer, and wine were great as usual. We shared the 500 gram...pork ribs with chips and salad ($38) which was more than enough for two of us. The rib meat was literally falling off the bone and it and the bbq sauce tasted great. The only hiccup was that the meat was a bit chewy and not as tender as it should have been after slow cooking for several hours. We are glad we had to dine in the covered beer garden because all the indoor tables were booked when we reserved our table. When we walked into the place the music was playing so loudly we could barely converse with the lady who greeted us and we would not have enjoyed dining inside. The music should be turned down. We will definitely go back but hope the music is less loud and the ribs are more tender.More

This brewery makes good beer and palatable cider. You can sample the products on a tasting paddle, it's a good way to see what you like. Coldstream Brewery was founded by a group of five mates, who thought owning a brewery was a good idea....Who can argue with that? The pizzas are good, but the beer is best.More

We sat in the outside area for dinner and it was cold. The heating simply didn't cover everyone and didn't keep you warm. Disappointed with the condition of the toilets at 8.30pm. I thought the pizza was average although some of the toppings like the...artichoke were ok. The burger was a fairly plain slab of pattie that I didn’t bother to finish. The wine by the glass selection could easily be broader.More

As everyone else, I miss my holidays. So it was a totally unexpected explosion of flavours from the first to the last bite of Crispy Skin Barramundi. I could have been at any of the top restaurants of Bali and the flavours would not have...been any better. Yum. Would give a 10 if I could, for the meal and the instant holiday experience. Compliments to the Chef.More

On 8 December 2021 there was a COVID-19 message on the TA page for this restaurant that says only take away and delivery are available. That is incorrect. You can dine in. We had a great lunch sharing a pear and Parmaesan salad ($15), delicious...bbq pork ribs, chips, and salad (500 grams, $38), a bottle of local Tokar rose’ ($40) and a glass of also local Medhurst rose’ ($12). The servers were friendly, welcoming, and efficient on a quite busy day.More

I called into this local brewery during our stay in the Yarra Valley area to try one of the local brews. I had the Coldstream pale ale pint which was really good. They also offer a variety of local wines, ciders, beers and spirits, as...well as meals. We also snacked on the fat rosemary fries which were the nicest and crunchiest fries I have had for some time. The atmosphere of this boutique brewery was also very good.More

Like other reviews, we were met with some pretty rude and uninterested staff. Felt like we were an inconvenience. The food was ok but not good enough to make up for the service. The beer was a hit though.

This is a great brewery serving fantastic beers. The Pilsner is a stand out, given the scarcity of a good Pilsner in Australia. The pizza was not a stand out due to mushy dough, but the friendly and good nature of the staff helped make...our experience enjoyable.More
