We were a big group, 4 couples. The waiter was very experient, everything was good- specially the meat- ojo de bife- tasteful and huge! The place is nice, and accepts reservation before 8:30 pm.

Incredible well done barbecue place. Located in downtown Maldonado , this restaurant offers a good experience on how meat is prepared and offered in Uruguay. The place is simple, not fancy. Need to arrived early, otherwise will have to wait for a table. A bit noisy when it is crowded. Very good choice for getting away of glamorous places out... More

It is a shame for a nice place like this to offer such a bad quality beef. My wife ordered Lomo (filet mignion), it was good and cooked as requested "al punto" which is medium. I ordered the "Ojo de Bife" (Rib Eye) "jugoso" which means medium rare. I mentioned to the waitress that we could always cook it more,... More

Went with my friends to have lunch, tired of busy restaurants in Punta del Este. This is a friendly parrilla restaurant that serves, lamb, pork, meat and salads, potatoes etc. a typical uruguayan parrilla. tHE ENTRECOTE IS MAGNIFICENT AND SERVED AT THE RIGHT POINT OF COOK. The beef very well. soft and the waiter understood if it was "rare" or "a... More

We spent a few days break in Punta Ballena and were looking for some nice restaurants. Lo de Ruben proved to be a great place for lunch. Dishes are succulent and tasty. Service is good and pretty fast. I had a slow-cooked lamb special that was mouth watering. I recommend it for lunch.

Lo de Ruben is a classic parrilla, and one that I visit every time I go to Uruguay. It's a simple place, not the fanciest decor or service. But then again, Uruguay (barring Punta) is not exactly somewhere that celebrates decor and pomp, so I think it perfectly reflects the simple, relaxed atmosphere that epitomises the country. There is little... More

Felt rushed, we gave this resto three chances and all times the girls that helped us were inpatient, and at times rude. Food is ok, but one needs to feel relaxed when eating.

a great selection of parilla (barbecued) food and other cooked meals as well as some desserts. Much cheaper than the port equivalent restaurants, and well patronized by the locals.

If you are a gringo (and every tourist is a gringo), you will be treated as a gringo: sit tight, order, eat, pay and shut up. The food is just OK, but you only get what you ask for (in your flumsy Platense), and you'll sit tight, there are just too many tables in that place. But the rosado/rose wine... More
