Otmoor is sparsely populated, flat, and home to birds and wildlife. Murcott is over a half hour from the city centre as one cannot hurry. It's far from the madding crowd when one gets there and close on idyllic as a pub. Ducks and duck house on the street side pond, thatched roof with straw sculpted pigs on the ridge,... More

We pre-booked the Nut Tree Inn for lunch with friends months in advance to meet up,with friends from London area. We were really looking forward to the 8 course tasting menu and we're definitely not disappointed. The Nut Tree is a gorgeous historic building and gets 100% immediately on arrival. It's cute, tidy, beautifully presented and welcoming. The restaurant "extension"... More

Introduced to this place by my son, who really came up trumps with this recommendation. Located just a few miles from Oxford, this restaurant, set in the countryside in a real "Oldy worldy chocolate box setting. The bar was what you expect in this old pub, with a very comfortable lounge area to have a drink before dinner. Service was... More

We went here last night with my brother and sister in law and had the taster menu which was a great choice. Food was excellent, the right amount, not too fussy but beautiful ingredients and really delicious. Service attentive and prompt. Could not fault it and desperate to go back.

We had a fabulous lunch today with our family which was partly a surprise for our eldest daughter. We were helped with that surprise by one quick thinking server, her name I didn't manage to get I'm afraid. With two young children we had a concern that there might be a limited choice but our worry was unfounded as the... More

The aesthetic of the venue is lovely - very quaint and cosy. When you first look at the menu, there is so much choice it is difficult. The waitress gave good suggestions on what to order. However, it was quite difficult to get the staff's attention as we were in the corner. We were waiting a long time for our... More

Visited for lunch on a Friday and we had a nice seat by the window in the older area of the pub. We opted for the taster menu. The majority of dishes were very good! Highlights being the white courgette soup (amazing), goats cheese & beetroot, beef course and passion fruit soufflé. However, a couple of courses not so good... More

My wife was looking for a nice pub for lunch close to the M40. She found this and liked the look (of the thatched roof!). We hadn't reserved but this was not a problem. It was not until we were leaving that we noticed it has a Michelin star and has been voted Oxfordshire restaurant of the year 2017. We... More

My husband read about this place and took me for an early Friday night supper. We weren't drinking alcohol so opted for water and juice but at least this allowed us to focus on the food. We got off to an impeccable start with a delightful basket of breads and an amuse bouche of courgette and wild garlic soup with... More
