On behalf of the golf group from Sunday: Thank you for a wonderful afternoon! The set Christmas menu was full of variety. The food is fresh and portion sizes are very generous. There are a range of tasty vegetarian options (despite what other reviews may claim) and the chefs are always willing to adapt dishes to suit dietary needs if... More

We booked in to this establishment for the first time on Friday because a band was playing which we really wanted to see. When we arrived they had reserved a comfortable booth for the two of us with a clear view of where the band were to perform. All the staff were friendly and cheerful and the menu was varied... More

Went with my mum on a Friday lunchtime. Don't be put off by the wine bar name, it's a lovely place to have a relaxed lunch or even just a cuppa. We had a sandwich and the stew of the day plus a desert, all lovely. Good choice of meals and reasonably priced

We used to come here for sunday lunch when they had a good option, what changed? You would think in this day and age a plate of vegetables and gravy is not a sunday roast option. Nut roast, vegetarian toad in the hole, Ouorn roast or even just a couple of veggie sausages would be an option for us hard... More

Our first visit to the restaurant for Sunday lunch. It was enjoyable and the service was good. I personally felt the meal wasn't piping hot but there was plenty of it. I had the chicken and it was cooked well and others in the party had gammon & beef. Everyone agreed there was plenty of meat and ample vegetables. The... More

Ravenously hungry after an epic walk at Minnis Bay we arrived for Sunday lunch at 3.30pm to discover that the kitchen closes at 3pm. However, the decision was made that we wouldn't be turned away. Maybe our hangdog, starving faces and rumbling tummies had some influence. Or maybe this establishment really understands customer service!! We tucked into roast beef with... More

We had a super meal of beautifully cooked fresh fish with new potatoes and roasted Mediterranean vegetables, our friends had the spare ribs that were to die for! The service was great and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, with plenty of serviettes and finger bowl for the sticky fingers. We will definitely be eating in there again... More

We live n Birchington & although we like to walk further afield in the countryside when the weather is good, we like a good roast locally on wet Sundays. Been going to Christies for several years and Sue & Paul have really made this a lovely place to go! The music nights are great, too, so you can have a... More
