Dined at Gusto on a Thursday night while in Noosa and as it's locals night you can BYO with no corkage - non-locals are also welcome so don't worry !
The restaurant is spacious and the tables are nicely decorated. Shared tempura prawns to start, they were crispy and light. A plate of tuna sashimi was fresh tasting and served with cucumber slices, both were excellent and you are encouraged to share.
Main course of fish was another good plate, a perfectly cooked fish fillet atop some potato served with a not too bad cauliflower and leek puree with a few mussels for garnish, it all looked good and tasted delicious.
Service was mostly good, the bill took a while to come at the end otherwise it was attentive and proactive in clearing plates and topping up the BYO wine which I had brought. One of the servers was from Durham in the UK and quite a good sport.
Total came to $148.50 which was good value but adding a bottle of wine would have brought it over $200 so best to visit on a Thursday and BYO. They open a little later than some restaurants on Gympie Terrace (8.00 reservation) but it' s still best to eat earlier so they are not rushing you out at 9 ! Enjoy.

Recent Sunday lunch at Gusto. Beautiful sunny day as we looked out over the Noosa River.
The service was first class. We both had the Sunday roast lunch of pork and it could not be faulted, especially the crispy skin. A good wine selection is available.
This place is on the expensive side but you get what you pay for these days.
We have dined in many restaurants in Noosaville and this one rates high up.

Super service, super food.
We visited twice this week. Once for happy hour ($2 oysters were amazing) and the second time for the special Saturday lunch. The menu we selected was $89 each which included 3 entrees, a main from a limited but excellent selection and panna cotta for dessert. AND it included 2 hours of bottomless wine and/or beer.
The service was great (thanks Sally).
I chose duck and it was delicious.
Highly recommended.
Okay, we did return a third time in a week to enjoy the live music and happy hour on Sunday!

They phoned us and asked to move our booking 15mins later as a large group had arrived for a party and it wasn’t booked in, was what we were told. When we arrived they had my name wrong despite it being correct on the text they had sent me. We were supposed to be inside and were placed at an outside table. (We had not prepared and had not worn mozzie repellent) It was hard to get anyone to come to our table to answer questions and even then we were told two different answers when asking about the size of the steak. Our water glasses were often left empty and it took several attempts to get attention to have them filled each time. We only ordered one course but the whole meal took 1.5hrs. We were trying to take a family photo and tried to get someone’s attention to help but it was like the staff suddenly didn’t see us. When our meals did arrive my son’s steak arrived first and was plonked with a noise on the table by a very young server who then ran away again. Then it was some time until my steak tartare turned up. Then a serve of salmon we didn’t order was delivered, then taken away. We then waited another 5minutes or so for the lamb shoulder to arrive. Then the salad and some time into the meal the potatoes arrived. No serving implements so we had to use our cutlery to serve ourselves. It was very hard to get any service. The lamb shoulder and steak were good, but the steak tartare was not. It has been my favourite meal for over 30 years which I have eaten all over the world and regularly in France. This was premixed and no accompanying condiments were provided. It tasted like it was not freshly prepared, I could not eat it. It was watery….and there was liquid all over the plate which had made all the crostini soggy. Can’t say I have ever had it like that before. It wasn’t seasoned the way I prefer and was bland. I asked a girl for cracked pepper but it never came. The meat tasted off, and left me feeling quite ill. I just got home in time to throw up. We didn’t get asked “how are your meals going?”, or “Did you enjoy your meal?” I asked for the bill and then eventually the waiter came back with the machine and asked me if I would like a receipt. That is all that was said. There was no attempt to build any rapport with us or thank us for coming. What a disappointing night.

As long term locals we have been visiting Gusto quite often, and each time we have encountered the same great service, atmosphere, and of course the great food. The floor staff in particular needs mentioning, as they always find time for a chat, laughter and a smile. Tim, the owner is always at hand to give advise and recommendations. No need to talk about the menu, as we're always in goods hands by the chef and the kitchen staff.

Gusto is our favourite restaurant in Noosa. We are locals and this restaurant is the most consistent, good quality, good value and enjoyable relaxed restaurants around.
Professional staff look after us in a relaxed, casual but efficient and attentive way. This restaurant offers quality in so many ways and most of all it offers value for money.
Noosa has many fine restaurants however quality often comes at a significant price. Wine prices in town are often bordering on “ridiculous” and service does not always live up to expectation. This is where Gusto shines through with consistent service, reasonable wine prices and quality food.
…… and, by the way, Tim and his team realise how important the regular locals are to this business!
Others could learn from this!

We thought it would be a great place to celebrate our anniversary because of its number 2 ranking in Noosaville. When making our reservation weeks ago, the fact it was our anniversary was mentioned yet we were seated on a front bench in a corner both facing the same direction. As it was our anniversary it would have been nice to face each other. We opted for the whole fried Barramundi, a dish we’d had before at another venue, and also ordered some sides. What came out tasted as though it had been deep fried and then had some tamarind sauce smeared over it, no seasoning, no spices, no chilli, zero flavour. Some chopped up raw pineapple accompanied the dish, some lime and some herbs. Charring the pineapple or something might have helped 🤷‍♂️ This dish lacked love and attention in the flavour department and it showed. The only reason I’m happy to pay decent money for food is for one reason only, flavour, and Gusto’s food didn’t have it. The side of carrots was bland, also without flavour, but the Brussel sprouts were okay. When asked how was the meal, “bland and underwhelming” I replied. After a few minutes we were asked if we’d like to order something else however I wasn’t convinced anything else was going to be any better given the overall lack of flavour and bland quality to the food. Needless to say we left very disappointed and felt like it was a complete stitch up. Wishing we’d have gone to one of our favourites like Bella Vanenzia or Sprit House, or even one of our much cheaper secret spots that always deliver on service and flavour.
It’s a no from us. 🚩

My husband and I booked here for a late lunch. It could not have been better!!
Firstly, the location is ideal. A lovely view of the Noosa River.
The staff were absolutely amazing! Friendly, attentive and genuinely wanting to make our experience something special.
The food… absolutely unique and delicious.
We were greeted with a delicious prawn croquette which awakened our tastebuds before our entree.
We started with the French onion soufflé, which was incredible! Flavorsome, beautifully presented and so luscious.
Next, we were treated to barramundi in a tanning sauce with pineapple and herbs. Absolutely amazing!
The food was incredible and such a treat, but the most wonderful part of the experience was the passion and care shown by the team.
We recommend this restaurant and experience so highly.
We will definitely be back whenever we are in Noosa.
Thank you!!

Busy night and we had great expectations! Waiter was offhand at best from the time we arrived!
We both shared the terrine which was mediocre, not well seasoned and crumbled when it was cut!
One of us had the special if the day which was lamb steak, mashed potatoes, jus and greens! It was cool at best when it arrived at the table and the rump was meant to be medium rare which it was but very sinewy and very difficult to cut! A little too rare!!
My Husband had the cassoelt which lacked seasoning and was a very small dish for the price of $44!

On a windy and rainy evening it was quite cool on the terrace, despite the wind protection. We ordered cocktails, entrées and mains and the wine to follow. The cocktails came after the entrées had been served. I kept asking about the cocktails and was told they were coming. One came and 5 minutes later the other with the wine, by which time the first cocktail was warm.. The service professional then started to open the bottle of wine to which I said, that we would wait until we have finished our cocktails. So the meal didn’t get off to a good start. The food was well plated and delicious. We even shared a dessert. But the biggest surprise came with the bill. We were told, we would have to pay cash or by bank transfer as the credit card machine was broken. With no local bank account nor enough cash on us, we said, that we should have been told this at the beginning of the evening. We were then approached by the manager. We were prepared to pay a substantial cash deposit and return the next day with the remainder. He prefered to offer us the possibility to transfer the sum due into a Swiss or Belgian bank account. Interesting.

Our favourite entree dish (which is a big enough serve for 2 to share as an entree) is Cuttlefish and it is back on the new winter menu again !!!
For main course we had the beautiful Fish of the Day which was Goldband Snapper and deliciously prepared.
Although we usually visit Gusto on Saturdays for dinner, we visited this time on a Wednesday and there is a little live music on Wednesdays.
Service has always been excellent here, led by example by Owner Tim who makes sure he circulates to acknowledge all his regulars.
Great selection of Australian and French wines and all very reasonably priced..
Its very hard to beat Gusto in Noosaville which is why we keep going back.

This is a wonderful location, right across the road from the river. We went for Lunch, being our anniversary. We were welcomed by the manager and shown to a lovely table (to be honest all tables out side the main building would be good). We were shown the menu pointed out the specials and drinks came promptly. the food as excellent and the wait staff (all of them), were most helpful. This was our third visit and it was equally as good as the previous stays. The meals we choose were not large but being a mature couple that was fine for us. The pricing was good and had a wide range of beverages. If you have the lunch special it is served with a glass of wine or beer. A nice touch. We will be back on our next trip to Noosaville

I am not one to write reviews however have to thank Gusto and the team for the amazing dining experience. We were privileged having the private function room for our special occassion with a customized menu. The different array of great courses were exceptionally paired with cellared wines. Special thank you to Dale our host and sommelier which elevated the experience to another level. For those seeking a memorable dining option - Gusto is a must!
