Had a wonderful meal here after reading about it on trip advisor. Started with prawn saganaki and mixed fried vegetables which consisted of mushrooms, courgette and aubergine. Both dishes were delicious and flavoursome but be warned, portions are enormous! This was followed by prawn and bacon souvlaki served with salad and rice. This was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. The... More

We visited some years back on recommendation. We now visit every time we visit family in Crete. It gets better each year. We turned up a party of 8. Very accommodating. You choose your fish from their fridge so know what the cost will be. The crab claws were fantastic. The whole party of 8 left extremely happy.

Situated on the seafront at Kalives, Provlita offers a varied range of menu but it is the fresh fish that makes this place special. Choose the fish you want from an ice drawer, it is weighed and off it goes to the kitchen. Prices are very reasonable compared to the tourist traps of Chania and Rethymno. Staff speak very good... This place has it all: delicious food while having an awesome water view. We had fish and it was just to die for, and all the staff was very nice and helpful (I had some problems deciding :D). It was a bit crowded, so there was a little wait time, but really nothing that would be considered a big problem.... More

We went for a birthday dinner and all of the food was of very high quality. Service excellent as usual. The best "special occasion" taverna in Kalives!!

We ate here once on our 3 week holiday in august 2016. We had been here previously for a family wedding and it was fantastic but sadly I feel it's a victim of its own success. The food was lovely, if not a tad pretentious but it was packed with flavour and cooked fantastically so we can't complain. Also the... More

Probably one of the most relaxed and nice place to go to in the area. My parents live in Crete and on every trip I make sure we have at least one lunch there. Delicious grilled fish, calm view on the sea.. Everything you can expect from a holiday in Crete! Would definitely recommend!
