Really welcoming and friendly pub. Everyone knows everyone but they welcomed me as my first time there as if I was a regular with genuine warmth. Great beer and nice tonne given G&T in a cut glass! W

The atmosphere was fine if quiet. Food a bit pricey. There was nothing on the starter menu that inspired me, but that is a personal thing. The fish 'n' chips were good but some of the batter was soggy. Peas and home made tartare sauce lovely. Would I go back? Yes.

We needed a venue near Truro to have lunch and I recalled visiting the Punchbowl and Ladle years ago. I'd heard good reviews so booked a table. The pub was pretty much as I recalled it years ago and we were made very welcome. The choice of food on the menu was excellent. I had a hot beef sandwich that... More

We dropped in on passing and decided to take lunch, the Lunch menu was average and we had to wait longer than we thought as there were not too many diners.

Despite mixed reviews, we tried the Punchbowl and Ladle. The service was excellent, and notwithstanding the early hour 18:45, the food was prepared in a very reasonable time and was very good. The bill was incorrect when it came, but was corrected with no problems or fuss. I'm not sure that I would use it again, but that is more... More

The Punch Bowl is one of many pubs in Cornwall that you need to visit for their excellent selection of beers and their fantastic menu. We popped in on a lunchtime for something to eat and drink. The outside of the pub is Old English style with its thatched roof and the inside with its dark wood and coaching inn... More

This pub truly is the best. The food is exceptional, the landlord and lady are the friendliest. You get better every time we come. My brother asks to come here when visiting from British Columbia. The dogs love it here. Excellent.

A pretty, thatched traditional pub and restaurant, the Punchbowl and Ladle has masses of character both inside and out. Parts of the building date back to the 15th century and during the 17th century it was a hostelry for travellers and mariners crossing the river Fal on the King Harry Ferry. Legend has it that part of the building was employed as a customs house, and the original fireplace in the bar was used to destroy confiscated contraband!
Today, Graham & Jacqui Hill and their team welcome you warmly into the pub that has two bars, a large dining area and plenty of cosy nooks and corners for people to sit in comfort.
