Everything about this restaurant exceeded our expectations. It was extremely well set out in this Covid19 world we live in with well spaced tables, ventilation by our table (a door was open), lots of automatic sanitiser stations, assurance that menu’s are cleaned and strict mask...wearing by staff & customers other than at our tables. The restaurant is beautifully fitted out, staff were fantastic and gave us good recommendations.Wines by glass delicious and well paired. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. The spring rolls, rack lamb were excellent and the veg lasagne & passion fruit desert lovely. Thanks for a wonderful evening!More

I've lived around the corner from this restaurant for a while and I have been meaning to try it ever since I arrived in São Brás. Friends had told me that it's a place for a special occasion so I wanted to save it for...one. Last week, my Dutch partner visited me in Portugal for the first time and asked me to book somewhere for dinner on our first evening. I thought a visit to Ysconderijo was long overdue so off we went. I didn't want to tell my visitor about the fantastic reviews my friends all give the restaurant,just in case it wasn't quite as good as they had said. I need not have worried... The food and wine were both wonderful and portions so generous neither of us could manage a dessert. Beautifully cooked and presented, we couldn't find fault and the service was both efficient and discreet. It was by far the best meal I've had in Portugal in over two years here and my partner has rated it as his favourite restaurant anywhere. He's well-travelled and lives in The Hague so it's praise indeed from him. We loved it so much we ate here three times in ten days. My only suggestion would be to have one or two daily specials in addition to the menu. We plan to eat here whenever my partner comes to stay and we will pretty quickly have tried everything available so some seasonal choices would be wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely restaurant for any occasion and the very reasonable prices means it doesn't need to be a special one. Even with the current covid-climate, the restaurant was still very well attended so be sure to book your table before you arrive. You won't be disappointed.More
