About
Coco Mojo's is all about fun, great atmosphere and having a fantastic time. Located just a stone throw away from the beach opposite the tennis courts. The owner and chef has operated and cooked all around the world and has operated restaurants in Palm Cove since 1993. This is his last one " so he say's" and he wants to go back to where he started, have fun with cooking food and make people happy! The food served in Coco Mojo gets it's inspiration from street food dishes from countries located around the equator. We believe that these type of dishes are perfect for our hot tropical climate and are great to share. Coco Mojo has a funky selection cocktails based on the same philosophy and we have an outstanding wine list for very reasonable prices. On weekend days we serve breakfast. It's not your standard eggs and bacon. The dishes are inspired by travels around the world and breakfast cocktails and 10 international iced coffees are on the menu. Lunch consists of tapas style international street food dishes and share platters. We hope to see you come as a customer and leave as a friend.

We couldn't fault our dinner at Coco Mojo - our entrees and mains were generous, innovative and packed a flavour punch. We're sorry we didn't discover this hidden gem sooner. The prices are at the high end of the scale for a suburban restaurant but our meals were worth every cent, and the service was top notch too.

Doesn’t look like much from the outside but the food was delicious. We had a recommended selection of small bites, an entree and 2 main meals and I enjoyed every mouthful. Meals were delivered in good time however the table service was lacking as we had ordered a 2nd round of drinks that didn’t arrive. There was a new waitress working her 1st day so we weren’t too worried, the food more than made up for the shortfall in service.

As a travelling couple we have tried a range of different restaurants in Australia but Coco Mojo’s was definitely our best experience! Classy yet chill vibes here we felt very comfortable. Staff were so attentive and made time to talk and suggest cocktails for our liking. The cocktails were gorgeous and food was also top quality. Couldn’t recommend enough!!

We used to eat at Coco Mojo once or twice a week; the vibrant menu was superb a couple of years ago. However, recently this place has changed beyond recognition. The once-awesome quality of the meals has been drastically reduced and the prices have risen to a point that makes it unaffordable to anyone except cashed-up tourists Our last 3 meals have been so disappointing. We try to support local, so we returned on Saturday evening to give them one last chance to serve up a good meal like the old days! After ordering from an even more slimmed down menu, we were advised rather flippantly that since there was only one chef, two wait staff and a table of six before us, we should order some bread as the wait time could be pretty long, probably 45 minutes. We left disappointed and won’t be returning. RIP Cocos. Sadly missed.

Overpriced for starters /tapas with tasteless food, limp / rotten salad leaves (Garnish. ) should never have left kitchen . Offensive fish smells from kitchen, when paying for bill. beer comes out with a well worn sticky, stubby holder! ( how hygienic is this?) Whole place was dirty and needs a health inspection review. We noticed it was closed last year when we passed by and looked run down , hoped that it may have been revamped. Such a pity as no other eating places in Clifton and wanted to try and support businesses in the area . Can’t believe others reviews and comments on meal standard. I hope for the owners sake it was an apprentice cooking. ( although everyone knows what off lettuce looks like - no care) Love to support and encourage small businesses but the owners here need to seriously review and consider how much of a asset they have and they are not capitalizing on it. Will not be back.

I holidayed at Clifton Beach 9th to 14th June and as there is only one restaurant I thought I would get takeaway and eat it on my balcony. I placed a phone order that would be ready in half-an-hour. I arrived on time. The restaurant is on the corner of Clifton Road and Yule Avenue. I parked on Clifton Road and entered the property and found I was in the restaurant outdoor dining area. As I was looking to see where the main entrance is (on Yule Ave), a waiter saw me standing there and barked words to the effect, “Go to the main entrance and wait for me there” which I did. He was obviously busy serving but when he came back into the restaurant he completely ignored me. Just as I was about to approach him he turned and glared at me so I told him my name and the order. He barked at me “Sit there” and pointed at a table. As I was the only one inside the restaurant I was not annoying anyone (except him!) by standing so I continued to stand. He returned with my order and plonked it on the table and then walked to the cash register while telling me how much it cost. I paid with my credit card and left. He did not say thank you or make eye contact. I was planning to have all of my dinners at Coco Mojo but his rudeness meant that I did not return – he is totally unsuited for the hospitality industry. As for the food, I had the Seafood Linguini ($45) which had a Moreton bay bug, prawns, scallops, mussels, clams, calamari, cherry tomatoes, chilli, herbs, white wine and garlic and was delicious. The interior of the restaurant has interesting art and the vibe is very cool. I really would have like to have dinner there more often but not with Mr Unpleasant serving me!

We are locals and we found what was once a favorite restaurant has gone downhill. The menu has been downsized due to lack of staff so half the items on yesterday's lunch menu weren't available. We were not advised about this when booking only after we sat down at our table! Poor form. The Vietnamese Crepe is half or 3rd the size of what it used to be and for $27 is seriously overpriced. The Beef Satay skewers while delicious again very small. I hope management takes this onboard as once loyal customers will be dining out elsewhere. I'll be checking out the reviews before I even think about booking next time.

We were excited by the very interesting and varied menu. Unfortunately our eating experience fell a bit short of expectations. We shared three of the 'quick bites' as an entree. They were well cooked and presented, but we found 2 rather bland in flavour and the other a mismatch of sweet and salty.. Our tostada main was a generous size, but the flat pita bread it sat on had a burnt taste. The shredded chicken filling was OK but the mayonnaise/chipotle sauce was not a combination I enjoyed. Service is friendly and attentive, but it did take long time (45 minutes) for the food to start arriving. Overall, we did not enjoy the food we ate well enough to warrant a return visit to sample other items on the extensive menu.

Coco has been a highlight of our annual trip to Palm Cove. On this occasion it fell way short of previous experiences which were incredible. We love a cocktail and neither of us were able to finish what was served. Tasted like pure alcohol!! The food wasn’t any better and again our dishes were half eaten. It’s a shame as this was one of our favourite restaurants and clearly the owner and kitchen staff have changed. Sad to say we won’t be back.

We were looking forward to dinner here. It looks terrific, the menu and drinks list reads well. Unfortunately it was underwhelming. We waited 30 minutes to get drinks, after asking to be moved from an isolated table under a very noisy fan. The guy who brought our drinks was pretty stroppy for some reason. We waited another 30 minutes for our mains, three out of the four weren’t what we ordered. When we brought that to the attention of the staff, they apologised but made no effort to do anything about it. On the plus side, my wife’s seafood pasta was really good. When I went to the bar to ask for cracked pepper, (no-one had been near us since delivering the wrong meals), I was given four paper envelopes of pepper, (a la McDonalds), one of which was already opened. After finishing our meals, no-one came near us again. The table wasn’t cleared, we weren’t given desert menus, no-one asked if we wanted coffee or after dinner drinks. Given that they’re the only game in town, I guess they don’t really care too much.

Quick bite to eat accompanied by two drinks which set me back nearly $80 ($18 x2 margaritas, $32 for pasta dish, and an extra $10 for surcharge). Drinks and food were okay, service was amenable & friendly. But this is fine dining prices for average fare & in a suburban street. No beach views or any views for that matter. I guess being the only dining option in Clifton Beach, they feel they can price gouge their customers. Absolutely not worth it for that price. Eat elsewhere.

A nice evening ,with the venue ambience comforting . A table for the six of us local couple was attended too quickly and efficiently by courteous wait staff. I can’t critique other people dishes but just mine An entree of scallops and duck ,was expensive at $19;with three little scallops on a shell and some ‘ stuff’ on a plate ,( the supposed duck was no where to be seen or tasted ) I suspected this was pre prepared and then whipped through the micro wave ,presented Luke warm. When I order scollops I expect ‘ scollops ,not the supermarket variety . Main course of sea food linguini was boasted on the menu with a variety of sea food . Finally it arrived ,after all our party had theirs presented ,with a huge amount of pasta , a few strands of calamari, three prawns ,four black mussels ,which where so small that by the time I opened the shell ,the pea like flesh was almost impossible to eat ,some crustaceans, which where also tiny and once again scallops glued onto a shell. I have no problem paying the fare for the food if it’s good ,$38 but this was very poor ,not only did I expect huge big flavours ,this dish had none and was presented Luke warm. My partner also had a pasta dish and her comments where exactly the same . Coco Mojo has a problem in the kitchen and it will be a long time if ever we come back .

Haven't been for ages, and the place was very quiet, particularly for a saturday night. Despite specifically asking for our cocktails to come before our entrees, guess what came out first! 2 of the mains were good but the fillet steak was tough and chewy. The response was - "that's because you had it well done." Strange enough, I can cook a well done steak at home with no problem. The staff were pleasant but not polished. Be ages before we return

Ordered two dishes of which one was completely not what it said it was. It was supposedly a lahmacun, which is some sort of Turkish/ Armenian pizza. Normally this dish would be a thin, doughy roll with a very thin layer of spicy tomato-onion- mince paste. It can be served with zaziki and salad, but even without that it ain’t supposed to be a thick bread with an even more ridiculous mountain of mince and a garlic Mayo, as was served. It was way too rich, not refined. Not very fresh tasting and really nothing I would recommend ordering, even if you have no expectations on a lahmacun. As with my previous experience, waiters are rare so a return of this dish was no option - but seriously should have been. The other dish was excellent. So was the mango daiquiri.
