We were walking along the beach one morning and stumbled on this little gem. When I was looking at the dinner menu the owner even offered to pick us up from our resort to bring us here for dinner. And thats exactly what we did! We were picked up in the evening and enjoyed a three course dinner for two... More

Went to this restaurant as it was a pleasant walk from our hotel (Le Meridien) and was in a nice location, overlooking the sea. Food was reasonable, drinks were good and prices average. Definitely worth the walk.

Just spent 12 days at Lamai Beach and ate at Uncle Rang five times. Basic, but very good, traditional Thai food. Friendly staff. Restaurant is right at th edge of the water.

Very basic curries, looks nothing like images they provide though:) very little beef and chewy. Green curry was just ok. Satay chicken seems very dry and chewy probably deep fried straight from frozen. Had so many good meals in Thai so very easy to compare after 20-30 curry meals in 10 just 10 days:) Do try it though maybe i... More

The best tom yum. I would recommend to try with shrimps/prawns. Big portion, nice taste. Papaya salad is spicy enough. Good balance for my taste

Very nice . The road to the restaurant is not recommended for motorbikes by darkness. The have very nice bungalows where you can stay and there is a swimmingpool

Its a bit of a walk (if you're walking from the main road) to Uncle Rang's but it will be worth it. we ate here a few times during our stay and could even walk along the beach at low tide to have our meal there. They have really good Thai dishes and serve some western food for the uncultured.

Nice to be recognised again after nearly a year. As good as ever with good staff, good food and good friendly service. The minced prawn cakes are very fresh and vibrant and should not be missed!

We are so fortunate to stay next door to Uncle Rungs, at Cinnamon Beach Villas. Spot-on Thai food - freshest ingredients, lovely rustic wooden hut, and tropical paradise views make it a twice-a-day place for us. Why search high and low when your local is perfect? If you are staying in the area I would highly recommend coming for some... More
