About
In the heart of the Madonie National Park, Polizzi Generosa is a small village with a glorious history. At the highest point of the village (917 m.s.l.m.) stood the Castle extended by Roger II. Our accommodation is located inside the Notarbartolo Palace (XVI century) built on a perimeter part of the Castle. Here me (Domenico), my partner (Sirirat) and our team, will host you, in what was the nucleus around which the village of Polizzi was formed. The accommodation We will be happy to welcome you in our suggestive location, from which you can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view in a relaxing atmosphere, full of history, art and nature. In our restaurant, if you wish, we can delight you with the typical dishes of traditional sicilian cuisine with local product from my farm or with a rich menu of Thai cuisine. Enjoy it with a glass of wine, the blood of sicily, in the castle where Carlo V King sits and named this city with appellitive Generosa.

Quaint restaurant in the old Norman castle in Polizzi Generosa. Excellent food including Sicilian standards. We had dined here two years ago. The warm, generous, chef host whose hospitality drew us back to his restaurant on our second visit to Sicily. We told him that we wanted to eat typical Sicilian food and we were not disappointed with his selections for us.

Nice place. The very kind owner showed us the dishes that reflect the territory (in particular the hazelnuts). Very good dishes, we had an appetizer with cured meats, cheeses and vegetables and two second courses, very tender and tasty.

The first thing you need to know is that Polizzi Generosa is a treasure chest of wonders and the inhabitants are as generous and welcoming as the name. The other thing you need to know about the Templars is that sleeping in an ancient castle, in the center of the town, and eating dishes prepared by expert hands, ranging from Thai to local cuisine with fresh and excellent quality products, is an experience worth do not lose. Highly recommended.

Pretty location, we arrive and make us sit inside a wooden pergola without air conditioning, the staff very young and clearly not of the trade, very poor appetizer, on the menu we talked about cold cuts and cheeses alongside typical dishes, comes a plate with salami, caponata, 2 types of cheese sliced 2 mm thick and a little cottage cheese! The first both shameful, pesto alla genovese probably from hard discounters and pennette with mushrooms and sausage served with shabby cream! The second even more embarrassing, a piece of sausage and a piece of bacon! Water and all other drinks served hot!! We were told that if we wanted something fresh just add ice!!!
A dispassionate Recommendation... if you have no idea what it means to do catering change profession!!!!

What a pleasant surprise. We had great service. The owner spent time with us telling about places to see. The food was great. I had the wild boar eggplant pasta and my wife had pasta with fresh funghi porcini. The house wine was very refreshing.

A lunch at Polizzi Generosa at the Templars?! Never again! Dirty place, trashy music and indecent Italian cuisine (discreet Thai cuisine).
Furthermore, we ate in the company of a cat who meowed like a desperate person and continually entered the kitchen. Not recommended!

We came for lunch with family before continuing our journey to Castelbuono.
Everything was very good (we ate Sicilian and Thai cuisine), the friendly welcome and the relaxed atmosphere.
Thank you so much. We had a great time as a family. Plus, the small entrance to the restaurant is very nice.

We, four friends who frequently holiday together, were new to Polizzi Generosa (PG) and in fact Sicily. We were close to PG (never heard of it before) due to us having rented a villa in the countryside nearby.
For a start we should mention that the mountain top town of Polizzi Generosa is enchanting and amazingly friendly - very un spoilt.
One afternoon early into our holiday (4th to 18th of September) we were enjoying a coffee in a PG street cafe (there aren't many, and they are really for the locals) when a proud mum gave us the business card of her sons restuarant and small hotel. We would not normally be too attentive to people promoting restaurants in the street, but as said before PG was unspoilt, and this lovely lady seemed very genuine - there were no other canvassers anywere the whole time we visited (PG).
We decided to go to the restuarant for lunch.... bingo!! the most unassuming, pretty and hostorically set restaurant you could immagine.
For us the food was exceptional. Unusually it was traditional Italian and Thai - not a common combination but agian genuine as the owners are a husband and wife combination with the wife being Thai. We weren't really looking for Thai food, but after initially having wonderful Italian courses we were ready to try, and my goodness we are glad we did - simply gorgeous.
Any inetersted party can go on the website and see the menu.
We were a self catering group, so we mostly cooked for ourselves at our villa - the exception was I Templari - no point in going anywhere else - so we didn't. We had all three of our PG restaurant meals at I Templari, including a very special last night of the holiday meal.
So clearly we enjoyed the food, and the historical setting. But we can't review the place without also telling you that the host was amazing. A young man, well travelled, who was also a Chef, incredibly attentive and informative. He was backed by what we assumend to be a first class team of young local waiters.
Oh - and fantastic value for money.
Thoroughly recommended by us.

In one of the most beautiful and green little town of the Madonie, inside a convent built on the remain of an old castle, there is an incrediblegarden, with stones as seats and geometric patterns, create probably by the monks in middle age....the place alone is worth a visit....Food was tasty ,well cooked, well served, expecially meat which is always good and tasty in this area...The tai food was interesting but i think the cook expressed the best with local recipes, maiale con nocciole, pig with nut cream and sausage with local herbs....super friendly staff and very honest prices

The restaurant is settled in the middle of this little town, with a B&B in an old castle. The menu was tastefull, the service very friendly! Great food!

we came upon this place inside a chateau, real fusion food as husband italian and wife thai. The ingredients were well explained such as the rare beans grown here. The meal was a delight with wild mushrooms and veal from the hills around. Our chef really nice and even organised a visit into a church with many art objects not normally seen so close. This will be a great memory of our holiday.

How often can you go to the family farm and pick vegetables for your dinner that evening? Well that’s what we did at Domenico’s restaurant (which also is a lovely bnb in a castle). So the fresh -picked peas and squash were paired with a locally sourced sausage, and the local porcini mushrooms made a delicate sauce for the fresh pasta. And the regional wild boar, which takes 14 hours to cook, was paired with a pungent porcini sauce. For dessert, we tried a local speciality called Sfogio, first made locally by Benedictine nuns in the 15th century — and considered a carefully guarded secret recipe not to be disclosed! Domenico clearly loves his local cuisine and culture — and he shares it with such talent and warm hospitality. Not to be missed!
