Me and my sister booked to take our mum for lunch at the Spiced pear. The food was amazing and was really filling. Good price, lovely location and great food. Would definitely recommend.

Visited here for a family birthday! We love our afternoon tea & this was in fact better then Betty's. A little over priced but you get what you pay for! We will definitely return here & were so impressed with everything. Location/decor/food just perfect. A great find & worth the drive over.
We visited on Mother's Day and although it was fully booked we did not feel crowded or rushed during our visit. There is a large adjacent car park but the steps down to the restaurant might be a little tricky for anyone who has walking difficulties. We had the afternoon tea at £16.95 per head and although quite pricy we... More
Visited for a family birthday with a young child. Upon entry, it's a very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere with the piano being played, lovely interior and cakes in the display cabinet in front of you. The menu looked good and we opted for afternoon tea for the grown ups and the child version. The food was good, the little ones... More
Was travelling back home and passed this little find. We just needed a snack and a bit of a break from driving. How please we were to come across this little place. Really friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and very clean. I ordered the Melted Goats Cheese Open Sandwich with peppers..... was expecting a little sandwich and got what I would... More
Took my husband for The Genleman's Afternoon Tea and it was our first visit although it had been recommended by friends. We were not disappointed, the food was lovely served by pleasant waitresses. Excellent surroundings HOWEVER if there is anyone disabled in the party it is better to stop at the roadside entrance (using the ramp) instead of the car... More
High hopes as per previous reviews. Location on the side of a thoroughfare main road. Decor really nice and welcoming. Service somewhat lack lustre. Probably the worst afternoon tea we have ever had. When did a single thin slice of smoked salmon constitute a sandwich? The rest of the sandwiches and cakes were not much better and my daughters childs... More
If you want to eat and drink in a relaxed and nostalgic environment, this is the place for you. It is easy to soak up the 40's nostalgia while enjoying the good food and friendly service at a venue that offers beauty out of the roadside window. A morning breakfast of an excellent eggs Benedict was accompanied by a very... More
