We came to this restaurant with a local guide who highly recommended it. It is not a fancy place and pretty much nothing makes it stand out from any other road-side eatery in the area, but it is a real gem when it comes to finding great Mauritian cuisine. There is no menu and you do not really get any... More

After a few hours visiting the attractions in the Chamarel area, my family and I wanted to eat local. We decided to re-visit this famous what used to be called a Table D'hote, a little improvised space within the host's home originally destined to serve local traditional dishes to locals and foreigners visiting the corner. I was surprised not only... More

Some 7 friends and I went for lunch in this quaint authentic simple Chamarel village to celebrate one of the parties birthdays. We were not disappointed, a jug of orange juice with a noticeable tot or two of White Rum was placed on our table on arrival by Le Patron Rico. He and his family own and run this restaurant.... It is a family run little restaurant- where we can enjoy excellent Mauritian food which we do find rarely nowadays. The owners are so nice, polite and ever ready to please you. Don't expect to have a high stylish restaurant, it's more a table d'hôte or family restaurant where you feel at home. For those who like wine with their... More

Ideal for a rustic lunch while in Chamarel. I would like if they could propose another vegetarian option (they propose just chicken or fish after). The waiter was nice but maybe a bit weird and curious.

It took a little bit of time to find the restaurant, is not very easy to find and park the car is even worst. We're the only guest at the restaurant for lunch. We appreciated a lot the food, very local. The service is also "local", but in this kind of place you can accept it easily. Not cheap, but... More

As a Mauritian, I know when our local food is good or not: and this one was great! You find a selection of delicious dishes, all typically Mauritian, which we now unfortunately not often do or local vegetables we now rarely find. It's a set menu and everything was VERY tasty. It's a family run business, in a simple but... More

We stopped at this small, roadside restaurant for lunch during a tour of the south of the island as it had been highly recommended in the Lonely Planet Guide. Boy were they right to recommend it. The place itself is very simple and unassuming and there´s no menu. The owner simply welcomes you and tells you what he´s going to... More

Open for lunch. Set up menu for very cheap price.A Mauritian feast not to miss. In a typical Mauritian house. Do not expect quality service but the food is exceptional. Worth a visit for the experience. Marilyn
