Zeerovers is a local bar and restaurant situated on the waterfront in the fishermen's town of Savaneta. Here we serve fresh fried fish and shrimps with side orders of fried plantain, french fries, pan bati(local version of cornbread), onions in vinegar and tartarsauce. Everything is served to you in a basket as you sit on the dock overlooking the water as fishermen bring in their catch which in fact could have been your meal if you came a few hours later. That said, this is not a place for fancy dining but rather a place where you are welcomed to kick back, relax and get your hands dirty.

We had an amazing lunch at Zeerovers, and I have to admit, right up until my first bite, I wasn’t sure how this review was going to go. We had never eaten here before, but tried it based on so many good reviews, and word...of mouth from the locals. We got there early, around 11:30, and were surprised to be in a fairly long line at the order window. About 20 minutes for us to place our order. People who had already eaten were raving about the barracuda on the way out so when it was our turn to order we chose that, red snapper, and shrimp. We also ordered a piece of the Aruban corn bread and a container of the pickled onions. There isn’t much on the menu so the choices are fairly easy. Then we went to another window to pay our bill, and still another window to get our drinks. Then we found a table out on the pier over the water which was absolutely fantastic. It took about an hour from the time we first got in line to order until our food arrived. I was hoping the whole time that the wait would be justified by the food. It was, and more! The food was so hot and so fresh and so absolutely delicious, the view was perfect. The seafood is caught fresh every day so the type you can get changes. It doesn’t get any fresher than that. We have not had seafood that good at any other place on Aruba. The whole red snapper flaked right off the bones, the shrimp were seasoned perfectly and even though the shell was on, they were fairly easy to deal with. The Aruban cornbread is like an American pancake but worth trying because it’s local and different. The vinegar onions are a great accompaniment to the sweetness of the fish. To say this is fried fish does it a huge injustice. Yes they do cook it in this manner, but there’s really not much breading, and no oil residue. It’s just hot and oh so good! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. So yes, it is WELL worth the wait.More

Refered to by locall Palm Beach island consierge at our resort and was she spot on with this recommendation. We arrived just as they were opening and glad we did as business does get very busy fast. They had freshly caught Wahoo straight from the...boat caught that day and also added a pound of freshly caught shrimp. They also offer tatar sauce pickled onions along with french fries. Adde a couple of coca colas and off we went to a picnic bech on a warf overlooking the ocean. Food arrived and meal was plentiful and delicious perfectly cooked and great views to be had. All wait staff very friendly and willing to get anything one might need during dining experience. Really enjoyed this experience and can not recommend enough to visit while here on island. We will retrun again before we leave for home as this place requires another experience to seal our vacation.More

Sometimes a local spot gets too famous to remain special. This place is true to itself. You are there for a unique stop on a pretty part of town to eat shrimp and fish fried! Good mix of locals and tourists. It's picnic tables and...fried fish and shrimp. You order your food by weight then go find a table. Food comes in a basket. Fries were good. Corn bread more like a cross between corn bread and a pancake - nothing special. Overall family loved it and felt it was a top pickMore

Whole fried red snapper, plaintains, peel shrimp and more…all of it delicious! And many menu items are gluten free as prepared, a bonus for those of us with Celiac Disease. Will be back.

I love seafood and I am so happy I went to this place. Whatever seasoning they put on their fish and shrimp made it taste so damn good! You must have the different flavors of homemade ice cream!

Everyone recommends Zeerover's and I can see why. They only serve fish and shrimp and a few sides. Fried is how they cook it. Very flavorful and definitely worth the drive. I just wished they served rice as a side, but I was told you...can bring your own food as long as you dont bring any drinks from outside. Dont come starving especially around 5pm because it gets really busy and you can wait up to 1.5hr for your food. I came here 3x and one of the nights I ordered for to go and only ordered 1dz shrimp. I waited 1.5 hr from standing in line waiting to order until my food was done. Prices are by weight. You can order by lbs or by pieces.More

Best thing about the food was how inexpensive it was, everything here is fried so keep that in mind. We would have loved to try the shrimp but the leave the head on. We waited quite a while to actually get out food but luckily...the view/environment was beautiful.More

Yes it’s doable but will take some time. Do take suntan and water with you.

Not really. You buy fish and shrimps in advance by weight, you buy your drinks and wait until your fish and side dishes are prepared. Btw the food is very good and by far enough to give you a satisfied feeling.
