Have wanted to go here for years. Was first disappointed with the service with 4 waiters coming and giving us different explanations for the shared menu. We ordered the shared menu for 8 and one serve of each comes out barely enough for everyone when...we asked the waiter he just said as long as it’s tasty that’s all you need. The lamb was chewy and fatty and disgusting. Further to that wine we ordered took more than 20 minutes to arrive with us following up multiple times. We added up the amount of food we had vs the per head shared menu price and it’s 50% cheaper to just order your own. I have never been so disappointed and would never recommend.More

We went for lunch and selected the 'feed me' option. Which was a chefs selection of 4 courses ans the food was amazing. We started with a chacuterie board with bread whipped ricotta, and then had two pastas, a beef ragu and cream and pepper...pasta. All were so delicious. We had our 6 year old son with us and staff were so accommodating to kids with a variety of kids pastas on offer, which our son even said, "this is the best pasta I've ever had". Our main course was chargrilled chicken with potatoes ans then we finished with tiramasu. All of the food was wonderful and staff checked either us as they brought out each course, on how we wanted the next ourselves timed. All in all, the staff, service and food were wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed the garden area where we were seated on a beautiful sunny day. Thank you, we will definitely be coming back!More

I'm not going to bash the place because the service staff were friendly and the food was passable, but I just don't get all the 5 star reviews. The negatives for me were that a $33 bowl of pasta better be spectacular and leave me...struggling to fit it in. Neither of these two things happened, and my wife's crab linguine was in the same category. The focaccia with whipped ricotta and olive oil was hyped by the service staff, but failed to deliver on the promise. We also had a wine flight of 3 rather dull reds to round it off. Given the way people talk about the place, I was expecting so much more from it, but we just couldn't wait to get out of there and get some real food and wine into us.More

From beginning to end, we experienced wonderful, enthusiastic service and simply delicious food. It's a busy place, however staff attention is en pointe and helpful. The food quality is excellent with a beautifully balanced menu - something for everyone. We enjoyed the crab linguini and...chicken especially. OUr primary servers, Sebastian and Tim were fantastic - as are all the front of house and kitchen staff.More

The food, particularly, ‘The Feed Me’ Menu is exceptional without a doubt & paired with the Fierce 111 Pinot Grigio, it was heavenly. However, the standout feature of this place has got to be it’s staff. Without exception, they would have to be the most...energetic, enthusiastic, lively, vivacious bunch of wait staff that I have come across at any venue. They obviously enjoy where they work, what they do & representing the Miranda family business. It was a delight to experience & see it first hand. Bravo, to all those at Lou Miranda. You do yourselves & the business proud! We will return for another round! 👏More

Party of four had Sunday lunch with the Feed Me option of the menu. Staff were all very professional and customer service experience was excellent. Food was delicious, we cleaned every plate and the serving sizes were great. One of the party was gluten intolerant...however this was not a problem and it was terrific to see how easily they acknowledged and addressed the issue with no drama. We enjoyed the wine and could not fault this experience. Will definitely revisit soon.More

On arrival, we were quickly and happily greeted by a lovely lady and shown to a great table next to the big windows on a chilly day in January. To allow us to choose the wine to have with lunch, we did a tasting and...chose the Prosecco to start (bought 3 bottles to go as well) and the rosè with main. The service was cheery and quick and the food was exceptional. My brother is a chef and he raved about the lamb he had, high praise indeed. If you are looking for good service, great wine and incredible food, do yourself a favour and visit Lou's.More

Friendly and very helpful staff. Beautiful winery restaurant atmosphere. Amazing food. Only fault was gnocchi we ordered was sent out as shell pasta - very disappointing, others perfect lunch. One of us is disabled and they made things easy and comfortable for us. Thank you....Lovey wines and ‘Christmas rum’!More

We have eaten at Lou Miranda's virtually every time, over the last ten years, when we have been in SA. In the old incarnation, as a winery restaurant: simple plain, Australian cooking done well in a welcoming environment, we enjoyed every meal. So this visit,...after a three year absence due to the pandemic, and faced with the change in offering, we were slightly anxious. As it turned out with absolutely no reason. The offering is shared plates, an excellent children's menu ( with four grandsons needing feeding, this is vital) attentive and professional service. Lou's offers a straightforward set menu of shared plates - three courses of what is nicest this week. And it works like a dream. We enjoyed a long family lunch, paced to suit the adults and the children. Another one for the bookMore

Staff where attentative and enabled a wonderful celebration. The food was mediterranean inspired, simple and plentiful. They used local produce. Nicoletta and the other staff even helped to sing Happy Birthday with gusto. Nestled in quaint surrounds..a must to visit.

Assuming you follow celebrity chefs /cooks and food shows? Then a percentage of patrons would come to this place no matter, we were in that category! Sometimes places measure up, thank you Africola! and sometimes well?? Our experience started sensationally, we arrived early and jumped...into a wine tasting. The lady was educated, attentive and an absolute joy. I didn’t know the wines (either Fierce III or Lou Miranda). I can assure you after our tasting I was not only a huge fan but immersed and was the perfect segway to the dining experience. That is where our positive experience not only hit a brick wall, but the brick would have been easier to digest than the service and food. 1:00pm - Everything started ok, young staff not absolutely in tune with diners needs, but I get it, public holiday and all. No need to have the good experienced, more expensive staff on penalty rates. Simple menu, easy concept, we went with the feed me option. We were able to choose a few that we fancied, couldn’t be simpler. Drinks were ordered and arrived, ordered our food choices, story going very well at this stage. Enjoying our drinks, we are absolutely flying. A simple little platter arrives timely and well explained. I wasn’t exactly writing a three hat (one or two for that matter) review, but nothing offensive if not underwhelming proportion size. Ordered wine (and forgotten by the wait staff) all good move on. 1:40pm (Note the time) small plates arrive. Unfortunately for the young lass (I do get that Halloumi looks like potato???) the explanation of the dishes was poor and rushed. Now if you’re going to make someone pay for simple produce done well, then for heaven sake, do it well. Don’t have your customer’s think they are three hatted chefs compared to what was served. Tomato, Halloumi, Pickle of some kind (yes, all right cucumber) maybe a basil leaf dressed poorly and executed even poorer. Ricotta agnolotti pasta overcooked and falling apart (Hit al dente 3 hours earlier) with wait for it, drum roll please “4 walnuts”. Octopus, Eggplant while not the worse, well overcooked. There were warning bells ringing in all of our heads, what was to come was inexcusable. You know when you start getting a little restless and one or two toilet breaks happen. Fidgeting starts. Wine runs out ??? no water refill ??? No explanation of why things were taking so long ??? Waiting for the attention of the wait staff. The young staff obviously knew there was a timing issue. ALL THAT WAS NEEDED WAS AN EXPLANATION!!! I get inexperience, you don’t want to explain challenging situations, BUT I would have ordered another bottle of wine if you had asked?? The continued avoidance only builds the tension. It doesn’t help when after asking how long until our mains and a polite reply of 5 minutes turns into another 20! 3:20pm - our mains come out! After having to go inside and confront supposed senior waiting staff. Which was met with this resounding comment after letting them know we have waited a long time for mains, wait for it “What do you mean” was his response. Obviously, our interest level was well and truly shot by this stage, but I will run you through mains quickly. Pork Jowl with a smear, and Chicken with a smear. Pork what there was of it was tender, but lacked flavour, the smear supposedly black garlic hummus again lacked any punch. Chicken brined and cooked well was the highlight, no problems going back for that tasty salty goodness. The smear was also nice being beetroot tzatziki. Sides were classic Ying and Yang, potato / radish was as ordinary side as I have ever had, flavourless under seasoned and no idea why a very ordinary potato salad exists on this menu. Beans ok, but splitting a single broccolini between four was a challenge. No review on desert as we ran out of time!!! All in all, as average as a first experience I have had at any new restaurant to me (being foodies there has been many new experiences). Truly hope it’s a one off for Lou’s place. Reading other reviews, I don’t think I’m an orphan. Obviously when we paid, the gentleman felt our pain and wiped the drinks and discounted overall. Which went some way to ease the pain? Unfortunately, many hours of our lives drifted by with little reward.More

We booked for a Monday lunch based on reviews but we were very disappointed . Had two excellent lunches in mclaren vale in the days before and to begin our Barossa experience this way was sad . We were told we all had to order...the same set menu . We didn’t have these restrictions at mclaren vale . So we ended up with the feed me quick menu for $40 each . It was a rip off . Anti pasti for four was a plate for 2 ..like store bought items . The mains were entree size and the choices were 2 vegetarian and one meat but the waitress then said the meat choice was not available .. so it was flavorless ricotta agnolotti but the beetroot risotto was nice . Wine was awful … we had just come from henschke . Never again . I would avoid it … there are better placesMore

This was a restaurant I had read and heard about several months earlier and was looking forward to the experience. Ours was a second sitting for a Sunday lunch. This was a feed me slow meal which was not the standard of food I had...anticipated for the cost. The ricotta was nice. Conceptually great - an Italian approach to shared meals - but lacking in choice, scope and layers of flavour. Wines were good. VL travelerMore
