Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I think we chose to dine on a bad kitchen night. We waited over an hour for entrees which were lovely once we eventually got them and we were offered a free drink but we had already purchased a bottle of wine. We had eaten...the mains before the sides even appeared and no apology. Went to order dessert, profiteroles hadn't risen and out of creme Brulee.More

Service and food very disappointing. We went for mothers special birthday. We had to continually get waiters attention to order, to check re dietary requirements . Meal ordered not quite correct and cocktails forgotten to be ordered. Was certainly not the level of restaurant we...were expecting. Would not recommend at all. A big shame for our last night in the Barossa!More

We started with relaxing pre-dinner drinks by the central fireplace, and looking out over the valley views before the sun set. The barman kindly made mocktails for our kids, suggesting an off-menu raspberry and coke for our fussy son which was very well received. The...waiting staff spoilt our kids with activity sets including an origami kit which kept them entertained. Dinner is either 2 or 3 courses - we opted for the 2 course, which was plenty enough food for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the steak and coq au vin followed by chocolate tart and cheese board. The restaurant has recently added a matched wine option for only $18 extra covering both courses which was amazing. Kids meals were a good selection and only $12 each. We were very well looked after. Thank you Cellar Kitchen!More

As Accor Plus members we were entitled to 50% off our meals so we ate there twice, Friday and Saturday night. The menu's did not have any prices on them so you had no idea what you were paying but in the end fed 4...of us a main and desert each for under $150. Food was great nothing to fault Service was also great the first night served by Zach who was very funny and easy to have a laugh with, second night the young chap was very quiet barely said a word. I would eat there again for sure.More

Great food but unfortaunltey our experience was marred by breaking my tooth on the very hard dried figs with the chesse board. I started with Salmon- deliciously cooked. Wife had beef tartare and this too was very flavoursome and tender. We both had duck breast...for main which was alright - perhaps a touch overcooked. For desert my wife had apple aspic and icecream - kind of like a decontstructed apple pie and I ahd the generous chees board but PLEASE in future use softer dried desert figs or remove the stalks!More

As visitors to the Barossa over Christmas and New Year we were concerned about finding a restaurant open for Christmas lunch. We need not have worried. The Cellar Kitchen had us covered with an elegant Christmas buffet. It was the perfect location and a lot...of fun and tasty food. Highly recommend. There as everything from older groups to large family and intimate groups of two. Everyone appeared happy and the booking and planning was easy. Very professional.More

After our previous experience here, we were dubious to say the least. To say we were pleasantly surprised is putting it mildly. The meals were absolutely delicious. Hubby had the pea soup to start, we both had the beef shoulder and we shared the cheese...to finish and I had the best mojito I have had in years. So glad we decided to give it another try...More

This restaurant is part of the Novotel complex just outside Tanunda. The spacious room and incredible view promised a lot. However, despite having looked at the menu online before hand and seeing gluten-free options listed, the menu was different and very disappointing. For a weekend...lunch it was really a club menu with burgers, club sandwiches, fish and chips. The staff had to check on gluten-free options which were pretty poor. We ended up with grilled fish, chips and a pretty plain salad. A missed opportunity to live up to the incredible location.More

We arrived while the staff were at the front desk chatting, we very much felt like an inconvenience. The menu was boring and really disappointing given this is in the Novatel Resort. The service was minimal. My wine order was incorrect and given the disappointing...service and food that followed, I really needed that wine! the fish and chips were average. The wedges were reminiscent of the ones found in the frozen section at the supermarket. I did not need to order desert as the salad dressing was so sticky sweet that it seemed mains and desert were combined. If this was a cafe on a main street in a country town then this would have been acceptable. I rarely write poor reviews, but I feel that this is warranted. Very disappointing experience.More

Im going to sound like a real Karen here but I had plenty of time to stew on my thoughts while waiting and waiting. We heard great things before our meal. The executive chef was previously of the Fat Duck in the UK. So expectations...were high. No butter knife. Entree and main cutlery already laid out regardless of what you would order. Butter was provided in individual foil packets but olive oil was on a fancy tray. Honestly. How hard is it to make butter balls or something better than packaged butter left over from breakfast. Service was slow. Oh so slow. There were plenty of wait staff standing around having a chat at the register or behind the bar so maybe the kitchen is short staffed? The restaurant is noisy - hard surfaces everywhere. Screaming kids. We placed our order but weren’t asked for sides yet the dishes really need sides. Soup spoons were only brought out after the soup. But before this wait staff were idle. At one table the head waiter folded napkins while they went to the toilet yet nobody pours wine after the first glass. Priorities? Upon booking I asked for a front row seat as we had guests from overseas . (A rarity in these post covid days.) instead we were sat up the back. Not a big deal but a front row table went vacant for the entire time. Another couple were sat next to us, obviously didn’t like it and got moved to the front. The wait staff were so bored they tried to take our butter / oil away before our bread was finished. Staff cleared the unused tables to get ready for breakfast service while most tables were half way through their mains. At least they didn’t stack the chairs on the tables but that’s how it felt. Apart from all that, the food was pretty good. One plate came out with badly burnt Brussel sprouts so maybe the kitchen is understaffed. Very underwhelmed but we were a captive audience in this isolated location.More

$69 for two courses or $89 for 3 was a bit steep, but we did it. Was it worth it? No. We don’t think so. Whilst my meal of duck was lovely and my dessert was nice. My partners meal was bland. He did enjoy...the 3 scallops he had for entree, but seriously? 3? He had the brisket for main and it was bland, bland, bland. We agree with another review- they have a “captive audience” because of where they are.More

It begins with a great view….Then the fantastic service from all, with a special mention for Belinda. Made sure the kids were catered for, and this made it such a relaxing afternoon. Food was great too. Will definitely make sure we pop in again!

Was looking for something close buy to eat and the food looked delicious so I thought it was . We was seated next to window and the view was amazing looking over the valley . But sad to say that’s we’re it ended . We...ordered our wine and food . Entree came out the crackers slash toast was so thin was just unusable as they should have been my partner had the oak smoked ocean trout well that was even smoked looked like it was just raw. We then had main course I had the pork grilled Cutlet and chilly salad omg what went wrong ? The pork was so over cooked no crackling and the salads was just apple and 3 pieces of sliced chilli not good partner had the Marrakech spiced chicken. He said the spiced must of got left in Marrakech because it was not on the chicken . And I though would try out the desert summer berry and vanilla tart raspberry sorbet . It was just cream pat with fresh raspberries ( not sure what was summery about that . The hole experience cost us $233.50 Not impressed at all sorry but I am really disappointed.More
