A lovely little place right at the back of Villefranche-de-Conflent. Interesting deconstructing of traditional dishes - the deconstructed tomato and mozzarella salad was a highlight (tomato sorbet, creamed mozzarella and basil oil). One waiter was quite condescending (we are quite young and scruffy looking, though enjoy fine dining tremendously, so are used to staff in these places not necessarily treating... More

We had a good and reasonably priced set lunch here, good cooking, imaginative dishes and pleasantly and efficiently served. I suppose all youngish waiters want to know how on earth we Brits ended up in the Brexit (merde) but c'est la vie. A good choice for lunch. The restaurant inside looks gorgeous.

This looked so nice and the menu was just what we were looking for as it was a special occasion however the service was appalling and our waiter was surly and non communicative, even tried to open a bottle of wine we had not ordered in front of us, fortunately we did notice. The length of wait between courses was... More

Lovely location, food was fantastic. Its a shame about the rudest service I have ever had anywhere. We were seated quickly and then ignored for about 15 minutes. Eventually , the waiter decided we needed the English menu, and then seemed cross that we couldn't order in French, and was raising his voice to us. I asked for the French... More

This place is in a perfect location sitting in a corner, raised above ground level by a few steps, under shady trees. It is incredibly visually appealing. Standard French/ Catalan menu. Whether they were understaffed (didn't appear so) or were incredibly busy( didn't appear so - I arrived as a walk in at 1.45pm and there were plenty of free... More

We had the Menu Gourmet - 4 courses including cheese and two glasses of wine each selected by le patron to accompany our chosen dishes. Although €66 each for the menu is dear by local standards, it's no more expensive than our self-styled 'fine dining' (sic) village pub in England. Our starters, big juicy prawns for my wife and foie... More

We arrived in Villefranche on the Yellow Train in time for lunch. Auberge St Paul has a very attractive shady courtyard and we had a leisurely lunch. We chose the cheapest option, a starter and a main course, plus a glass of house wine. The service was very good and the food was imaginative and delicious.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times over the last 14 years. It is lovely for a treat. Fairly recently there was a change of management and chef, so we were keen to see if the experience was the same. Hand on heart, we all really enjoyed every one of the three courses we had. Each contained an interesting... More

We were on a motor home holiday touring France in Spring and came upon this fantastic restaurant after travelling across the Midi Pyrenees. The ambiance was fabulous, the service and the food absolutely excellent. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. A meal to remember.

We ate lunch here and the food, presentation and service were first class. My husband is a wheelchair user and he was helped and supported with respect and deference. The food was delicious and we are continually surprised in these small places that the quality and presentation is as good as top class restaurants in England We will be back
