I have visited artisan on several occasion but somehow I always leave felling disappointed. You have to book if you want to eat here in the evening as I have tried to walk in on two occasions, both times it has been quiet and we were sent away. The waiting staff are never very welcoming and seem to miss the... More

Visited Friday night with family who were visiting. The food was excellent and fantastic value as well. The haggis started in particular was lovely! Massive choice of whisky handed to us in a blue poly pocket folder which doesn't look great but the people who had the whisky enjoyed it once they chose from the list. Service was a bit... More

This place used to be good, it has went downhill so much. Horrible haggis and whisky sauce starter, spoon had to be requested for soup. Steak not cooked to liking, burger served with cold bun, chips uneadable, some undercooked and some over cooked due to varying sizes, could not eat. We were not asked how the food was despite not... Have visited many times and find food varies. Always good sized portions and soups normally good, but tomato not one of the best. Other dishes okay. We were in the bar area where there seems to be no heating. Have been cold before when eating here, but sitting in this area with the door opening and closing we were all... More

Hadn't been here for a while and now I remember why. Old and grubby place mats. Lots of whisky bottles on shelves which were incredibly dusty. Walls in need of painting. We went on a Sunday and had fish which was definitely not fresh ( perhaps frozen). Not our best night out.

Visited artisan last weekend for dinner with friends. Was keen to go back after having had lunch the month before and have to say was even more impressed. The meal was simply wonderful and the service was amazing. Had previously only given 4 stars due to service but could not fault it this time. Both men decided to try whiskey... More

App only allows full stars. Pretty good food, nothing outstanding. Was a Monday night very quiet. Staff helpful enough. £58.00 for a family of four.

Visited for the first time today and it was marvellous. A warm welcome and very relaxed atmosphere. I had haggis & black pudding starter and it was absolutely delicious. I had smoked haddock for my main , this was awesome, it was presented beautifully and was really tasty. This place is awesome , value for money just does not cover... More
