This was recommended to us and because it was a Friday, we decided to book, which was a very wise decision. We were told on the phone the times available, for us to have a window seat and not be seated in the main bar. The pub is set in a very pretty village and on arrival, looks like just... More

We visited the pub whilst on holiday this week and were very impressed by the views and atmosphere inside the busy pub. There were delays to service of food and the pub had stopped taking orders due to the restaurant being busy. I do feel this situation could have been handled better as the staff member was not very apologetic... More

This was my third visit here and last. The food is nice, just overpriced for the size of the dish. The customer service isn't the best either. I guess they feel that the custom will roll in through the door whatever. The contrast with the welcome up the road in the cafe is measurable. It's only me who likes seafood... More

So- its been a long time since Gail and I had a day out walking- we decided to drive up to Craster and start the day with a visit to the Jolly Fisherman- This pub has changed so dramatically- it used to be just a village pub, but now it is a Foodie's delight- They have added a balcony and... More

Wednesday lunchtime at 1:30. Chaos around the bar, not enough staff and too many frustrated customers trying to order drinks and food. Took me nearly ten minutes to order drinks. Very lucky to get a table upstairs. Food arrived promptly. Salmon sandwich was good, chips were fine, but my cheese ploughman was a huge disappointment at £10, two slices of... More

We walked from Embleton to Craister along the coastal path and had lunch here. Try to arrive before 12 noon as its very popular with tourists.

After a morning walk to the castle and the return being via every rock pool it seemed only right to have a local crab sandwich for lunch. A very busy bar full of people ordering was dealt with well and we sat outside with the family and dog with our mixed fish platter, mussel bucket and various kids meals. (2... More

This boasts a great location. We just went in for a light meal, ordered salmon sandwiches. We ate overlooking the sea and harbour. They were excellent and came with a lot of trimmings, a meal in themselves. But they came served on a bit of wood! What is this trendy, unhygienic fad for food on flotsam? Have they no plates?... We called in on a Tuesday night on the off chance they had a table. The restaurant was full but we were advised a table would be found. True enough we managed a table next to the window. We had the Fish Pie and the Fish Platter. Now we know why the restaurant is so popular. Highly recommended and looking... More
