Simple eatery serving local food. Expect an extensive Bulgarian menu, decent food and service for a low price. Nothing too fancy, but great for a quick snack on the waterfront terrace when visiting the Rila monastery.

I like to go to the restaurant from time to time, they cook a delicious, kind and united team and I am very pleased with the dishes!
Beautiful scenery by the river but those of us who had the fish or the chicken had food poisoning and vomited all night. we will never come back.
The waitreas was very friendly but that was also the end of a nice meal. The house speciality was a dish with pork meat, onions and cheese. The cheese was not cheese that melts well so it was very messy to eat. When I was...done I felt very bad and then had diarrhea so that’s the result of eating there. I wouldn’t recommend it really... there are better restaurants just 2km passing by that place so better eat there. I’m still disappointed and will not have good memories from there.More
We visited only the restaurant. The food was nice. The waitress was very friendly. The place is children friendly offering swings and slide. They didn't know the wifi password...
After visiting Rila Monastery, I stopped here with a few friends for lunch for what was our first meal in Bulgaria. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and loved the location. We sat outside on a beautiful day, enjoying the sun and listening to the small...river flowing down the valley by us. It is a beautiful place for a meal on a nice day. The food itself was quite good as well. We had shopska salad and the Monastery sach, which was a skillet of pork with onions and peppers with a melted cheese topping. The menu was quite extensive, and we only sampled a portion of it. The service was friendly and attentive. Great lunch spot!More
Valdis is just a 15 minute drive from Rila Monastery, and thus a convenient place to stop for lunch when visiting the monastery. Our tour guide took us here and it was very cozy, with a fire in the fire place and good service. We...had one of the cheese dishes, the monastery bean soup (good), the pork and chicken in the clay pot (excellent), and local beer. Portions were very generous. We can recommend this as a pleasant dining option!More
Good food especially the fresh trout . Friendly service and very reasonably priced . Whilst the fresh trout is recommended the extensive menu has plenty to offer .
Being hungry after a long drive from Bansko to Rila we decided to have lunch at this nicely located restaurant...just adjacent to a fast flowing river. Menu, as usual in Bulgaria, quite extensive, something which always creates some doubt about food quality since such extensive...menus demand serious mise en place in the kitchen. We selected two regional dishes accompanied by some bread. Food was served in a timely manner and at the right temperature but lacked any distinct taste. Of course we couldn't complain about the price but we left disappointed and wouldn't really recommend this restaurant to anyone.More
Located next to the river (and the main road to Rila Monastery), this restaurant is lively, affordable, with friendly staff and tasty food. We had the inland trout with fries and chopska salad. Try it, you won't regret :)
