Visiting my daughter , we all went for lunch (15 of us ) , we were not disappointed, huge steaks cooked lovely, all left very full and content.

Nice place to pop out for a bite to eat, must of changed cook recently the meal was very ordinary, sorry but it’s usually really good.
It was a great experience at the Rathdowney Pub. The food was delicious, well priced and well portioned. We loved that the meals didn’t come out quickly because we had a chance to enjoy our beers and chat first. Thank you!
We went for a short getaway and stayed in the motel rooms behind the pub. Basic accommodation but was fine for the night. The food was excellent, I recommend the pizza, huge amount of topping but not sloppy and the base was crispy and perfectly...cooked. Friendly locals and a good time was had by all.More
OMG just had a meal at the Rathy Pub and must say it was probably one of the worst I’ve ever eaten. 2 hour wait to get cold meals, chips that looked like they’d been reheated 4 times. 11 meals and NO ONE ate there...meals.More
Checked in to the Motel at Rathy Hotel...omg couldn't believe the poor standards. No remote for the TV, toilet seat was absolutely appalling, wouldn't even sit on it. Toilet roll holder broken, lights are so dim and full of insects...towels smell like they have been...left in the washing machine and dried hrs later...and no iron...can you believe that no damn iron. What Motel in this day and age has no iron. Definitely not worth the Dollars we paid..can't even secure the room properly unless you have 20mins to stuff around trying to lock the damn door because the keys dodgy. A big NO From me.More
Last night a large group of us went to the pub for a meal, we order a main meal of Calamari & Chips, and after seeing the large servings of others meals that came out before ours, we were impressed and looking forward to our...meal. I am only a small eater therefore ordered the main meal to share, there wasn’t enough for two people to share. Then our meal arrived on a small plate with a small serving of chips and salad and 5 pieces of overcooked calamari. Was very very disappointed with what was served up to us. I think we were served up a child's meal not a main meal. For $2 extra we could have had the chicken schnitzel which would fed both of us. My advise don’t order the calamari meal.More
Rathy Pub does not allow dogs on its premises, including the outside area. The barmaid told us that in order for us to eat lunch there, we would have to pass our lead through the fence to the car park next door where our dog...would have to sit. I think that most dog owners would find that option unacceptable. We took our money elsewhere….to the Tamrookum ‘Fill and Feast’ down the road where the food and customer service were both excellent. Rathy Pub must be losing so much business from the dog loving families who are camping/caravanning in the various caravan parks in the neighbourhood.More
Anything that could go wrong did. No apology from waitstaff although the person serving the bar was lovely. Where food is normally plentiful, food servings on this occasion were small. One meal was overcooked, but after waiting 45 mins for entrees and then another 30mins...for main we just wanted to leave. Very disappointed in this visit, where as in the past have been very pleased.More
This place doesn’t look like much from the outside but the inside is a relaxed Aussie pub with a hell of a kitchen! We came here for a Mother’s Day lunch and we were not disappointed! The T-Bones are the best we’ve had in years!...And the pepper sauce is to die for. Schnitzel was lush as well. For families: the kids meals are on the larger scale and all of our kids were able to share plates between themselves. An absolute bargain for $8. They had dessert deals for Mums - Cheesecake and a glass of wine for $8! We couldn’t say no to this deal. The cheesecakes were beautiful! Do not go past this place without dropping in! We will definitely be dropping in on our way to Brisbane in the future. An absolute gem of a place. And the staff were relaxed, made correct recommendations (yummy t-bones) and lovely.More
Wow! the food was so good, and the prices were equally good. This is a popular pub and it is not hard to see why.
We were all looking forward to having a meal together at the Rathdowney Pub to celebrate New Years Eve, after seeing the ownership details and the continued advertising how great it was starting to be, supporting a local business is inherent to living in a...small community. Devastated by the attitude of staff and the absurd menu, was made worse by the cook saying to our group she wasn’t working after 10 o’clock. Spoke to owner about the menu and he passed the buck.More
It’s certainly not ritzy but this country pub on the scenic rim has an old world feel about it. Had the burger and pot special for $15 and was one of my he best pub mergers I’ve had in a while. Beer garden feels like...your in a relatives back yard but it works for this pub. Definitely worth a stop for a day trip adventure.More
Went to the Rathy pub last month when I was on leave. Just like last time the food was disappointing and the service slow as the only person behind the bar was serving beverages and taking food orders. The meals were small and not great...quality, wont be backMore
We were staying nearby with our kids and some family/friends, so we decided to drive into Rahtdowney for lunch. We were four adults and two kids. And with starters, we just hit $100 bill for lunch for some really amazing food. Personally I've opted for...the pan-fried salmon on a bed of sweet potato mash and greens and wasn't disappointed. See photo. Kids' options were also good, not as good as adult meals, but great for kids. Next time we'll stick to the starters for the kids though. Highly recommended. We also had a honeyeater bird keep us company, and even though it was a bit busy, it wasn't crowded or we didn't wait long for our food.More
