We really enjoyed our dinner, which included lots of vegetables. The room was beautiful. The food was great.

A very nice restaurant in Biei , Japan. The food decor and quality are great. We were enjoyed with my family there.

Fine dining in French cuisine. One star Michelin. Reasonable set Lunch price for a Michelin star restaurant, - ranging from ¥2,800 to ¥4,800. Superb Ambience and Service. 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

Come to this place if you are in Biei. You will have a michellin star quality lunch that will show you how good Hokkaido ingredients are.
The chef uses ingredients that can only be found in Biei and it's really really good.
Service is great and the wait staff do speak English.

Arrived here with family coincidentally - walked through a romantic and pretty tree passageway-the atmosphere, quality of service and the food ... perfection!
Def recommended for romantic, family of friends gathering.
Fillet, veal check- out of this world ;-)

I bumped into this place on the map while looking for a place to lunch while visiting Furano and Biei. It was a thing we look much forward to do and so called long distance to make a reservation.
It is one of the best meal we ever had. The deco is simple and comfortable with a modern twist - tall glass windows and clean crisp setting. We were guided to a table by the windows looking out into the green. Service is exceptional, there were smiles and waitress were polite.
All courses were nicely presented. We particularly love the salad which was so fresh yet light and the pork loin which was so thick, juicy and cooked to perfection. My husband had the beef cheeks - it was tender and absorbed all the red wine. I rememebred the bread is also very tasty.(We went to the bakery after and all are SOLD OUT). There was also this juice made out of local berries that was really good - just right - not too sweet, not to sour and just has 1 piece of ice - just the right temperature. I bet wine is good too ( I was driving and only had a sip) and my husband had 2 full glasses.
Overall, its a very good experience apart from some inconsiderate noisy diners and I do recommend you to try out this restaurant. Make a reservation if you can or try to pop in early when they just open.

We had a pleasant lunch at this restaurant in June. We didn't make reservations but because we were there at 11am, we got a table for our lunch. We tried one of the set lunches, and the food was delicious and nicely presented. The staff were kind and tried to explain to us every course though we don't understand Japanese. They were all very dedicated to serve their guests. The environment was very bright and peaceful too, and we all enjoyed the meal very much. Highly recommended this restaurant and better book it in advance.

We heard of this place that needs RSVP, so we called and got RSVP for 11.30 am for lunch for a family of 5 and 1 toddler. The exterior and interior of the building and the restaurant are nice, neat but not awfully WOW. The servicing staff was polite but no much of any smile. We ordered the fixed menu =1 @ Y2600, 3 @Y3600 and 1 @Y4600. Every dish is being served immaculately and Yes the food was delicious, vegetables fresh, onion sweet, meat is succulent and juicy and the list can go on - they are delicious - except for the set @Y2600 which is Baked Ham which is of course ordinary as what you expect and find in the supermarket cold meat section. The restaurant is not family oriented and friendly, thus it is strictly for adults or children who has excellent manners. We noted that they turn away many walk-in as they do not make RSVP but frankly, the restaurant was full too.

Went to this place by referral from our travel agent.. we took the 6 course lunch.. all is gorgeously presented, and super delicious.. all menus are served from locally produced vegetables, and meats. Besides restaurant, they also have a small cafe selling ice cream and pastries and small shop next door selling high quality Biei rice, veggies and local snacks. Overall I would recommend this place to anybody who would like to try locally produced vegetables and meats.

We were brutally banished just because we did not make a reservation. She did not even allow us to peek into the place as a consideration of whether we would like to dine there or not. We did not know that a Michelin grading authorises such rude attitude. Please show respect no matter how good your food is. Thanks

Lots of fresh vegetables in the set meal courses. Although the meat dishes (beef, pork) are nice, portions are small and the focus is on the vegetables.
Overall a good meal if you are not a big eater.

Went there on the 01/09/2017 for lunch. Food was fresh and delicious as expected.
Serving however was on the small side.
Service wise it could have been better if some staff were more attentive and welcoming.
The older waitress who met us at the door had no facial expression at all. no hello no welcome except asking for my name. When we leave i said thank you to her with no reply in return.
The younger one also had very minimal facial expression and gave very little introduction/ explanation to the menu . We asked for english menu which they don't have and we were ok with that. However the female staff made no attempt to explain anything to us. We used google translate on our phone in an attempt to read the menu. lucky by this time a male staff saw what we were doing and he came for rescue.
The male staff on that day were very good.

Second visit to Asperges and the standard was well maintained. This is a place for vegetable lovers, serving fresh local produce for a very reasonable price. Loved the produce market within the same building as well. Well worth the journey to Biei just for this!

The Chef very proudly informed us that 20 vegetables were grown on their compound. We give a thumbs up to the fresh produce offered at this restaurant. Simply superb!!

Visited in June 2016 and it was a fantastic experience. Place was pretty deserted and only about 4 tables of people but that kinda made service fantastic. Føod was delicious needless to say and very meticulously prepared and artistically presented! Affordable and recommended.
