Popped in for lunch today. Very welcoming staff who loved dogs and there were plenty who were there with their owners who had been enjoying the scenery and walks. The food was quick to arrive. Very well cooked and extremely tasty. Thanks to everyone who works there.

Four of us stayed here for 1 night (wife, me and our 2 dogs) as we were house viewing nearby. Each member of the staff were delightfully friendly and helpful. The room we had was clean and practical and there is great access over the road to leg stretch the dogs. Our evening meal was just the ticket, good generous... More

On a crisp sunny December afternoon we called for coffee. Fires burning creating a nice atmosphere. Very welcoming staff. Any variety of coffee available and delicious. What a difference from our experience earlier in the day ay Lynmouth.

It would be so easy to have a main course vegetarian option kept in the freezer to go with the roast...this is 2016 folks, and you do get other visitors from people outside of the area.Numerous options...instead NOTHING.. the roast was offered without meat, for just a £1 off,great...and hence no protein!! Apart from that everything great, made welcome.

Celebrating Thanksgiving tucked away, cosy pub. A good selection of whiskies, real ales and cider. Adequate wine list. Starters, good; Mains, average; Desserts, good. Pub grub. Friendly, helpful staff (they make the place). Log burners, clean toilets. Nothing trendy but an honest-to-goodness country pub.

Fabulous Sunday roast for all the family, great portion size. Most wonderful desserts - all home made. Amazing location, just a short way to go to some great views and walks.

Having had a few navigation issues on our Watersmeet walk we were delighted to arrive at the Blue Ball while lunch was still being served. Warm welcome, great food, nice stop

The Blue Ball is the most efficiently-run pub we have stayed in - ever, I think! Check-in is by the bar staff, but in a separate area, so you're not competing with drinkers for bar space - and we didn't have to wait to catch their attention. A table is automatically booked for your first night (but you don't have... More

After a nice walk up the East Lynn river, we made the ascent up the path to Countisbury to the Blue Ball . Staff were very friendly and attentive. My wife had the rump steak and onion baguette with great fat fluffy chips and I had the 'Blue Ball' steak mince burger. The burger was ample and delicious, with cheese,... More
