We were greeted with the sight and sound of a local steel band, which created a wonderful party atmosphere on a sunny bank holiday afternoon. Our large group all enjoyed a delicious meal including main and dessert and the three ladies that served us were...all polite and attentive. Thank you to all for a lovely afternoon.More

Thank you for your great review. We are pleased that we were able to accommodate your group in a safe manner in our lovely outdoor marquee. The sunshine and Steel Gen Band were a fantastic bonus too! Thank you xx

Food excellent, but was sat outside in the marquee which was a bit chilly, it would have been nice to have been warned. Had the prawn pil-pil which had a lovely sauce but came with a piece of sliced supermarket bread! Then we were given...the bill which included an extra main course. Sorry but they let themselves down.More

Sorry that you felt let down on your recent visit. Due to distancing, the marquee helps us spread everyone out but anyone requesting to go inside is usually accommodated if possible. I’m sure you can appreciate that errors can occur on bills, especially at extremely...More

Don’t go to Spain instead go to the Old Plough in Egmanton and sit in the evening sunshine on the decking outside the marquee and enjoy the most brilliant authentic Tapas with your drink . If you are a real ale lover the Pale Rider...IPA is delicious . You don’t have to quarantine for a fortnight on your return home !More

Our first meal out in 4 months and it was worth waiting for. First we had pre-dinner drinks in the decked area at the front of the amazing new outdoor marquee, then moved into the main dining area for our meal. The food was amazing,...King Prawn Pil Pil starter, Fillet Steak cooked to perfection and JUST managed to fit in a desert! The whole evening was just perfect, the Socially Distancing rules worked really well, all the staff did a really good job on their first night as this is a learning curve for everyone. A big Thank You to John and Lisa for all their hard work.More

The organisation of the lockdown rules was excellent with our take away meal ready exactly on time and the take away pint freshly pulled into the container. Our meals of Duck , seafood selection and traditional fish and chips were excellent . Quantity was generous...and taste was very good . Even when closed the pub looks a credit to Lisa and John with colourful hanging baskets to brighten up the village . Let’s hope that it won’t be too long before the doors open again . It’s good to see the take away menu change frequently .More

Good service and food. Steaks all cooked perfectly. Chips served in little baskets which was a nice touch. One of our party had a number of food intolerance's and waitress was careful to listen and note them. The serving team were also very good to...find alternative options for our friends pudding. We had a very good night and would return againMore

My husband and I went for dinner last night and we both agreed that it was the best steak that we have had since being back in the UK. He had the bone in ribeye and I had the filet. The server was very attentive...and sweet. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will definitely be back.More
