Great location but overpriced. The steak sounds amazing but don’t order it overcooked tough and a tiny drizzle of jus. Very disappointing. Best go with fish and chips or a Parma.

Well I believe in truth justice, and the Australian way. after reading very average reviews about the food quality, thought I would be fair and try for myself with 3 friends for dinner last Monday night. The pub was chockers however managed to find a...table and ordered my chicken parma. my friends ordered too, a steak and a hamburger meal. Suspicions were aroused when we just returned to our table after ordering and my parma was following me to the table- so much for coming out with the others- so must have been conveyor belted out the back and touched up by possible microwave- alas i had to eat - the chips tasted like they had been marinated in buckets of salt , but at around 35.00 a McCains frozen would have crossed the line in front. subsequent arrival of the other meals and the burger made its arrival the topic of the night. I hope the owners of the place and the chef- or perhaps conveyor belt operator hang their head in shame at the QUALITY and presentation of this abysmal burger- I am not Gordon Ramsay or a food critic however its about bringing venues like this to account as i cant see what explanation can be offered for a "hamburger meal" at over 30.00. it consisted of only a portion of meat, with some cheese and a handful of chips thrown onto a plate- no mayonnaise, cheese side dressing obviously presentation is not on this places list this would and should have been sold as a plain hamburger or kids happy meal without the cardboard and toy- though im wondering if they would have been more palatable. You would have thought it would be stuffed with lettuce, tomato egg and something oozing to remember the place so you would want to come back. but we have decided never to come back for that particular reason Venues talk about closing down due to lack of patronage or supporting country town pubs to survive but this place is on the ronald mcdonald list of shame- Even their basic cheese burgers fly in at a mc happy 4.00 + or-. so looks like its going to be a visit to Ronny or his cousin "Jack" in the future before visiting the town again. could have bought 20 burgers for that price and fed the local CFA, footy and Life saving clubs. if you could offer me an explanation, Im all ears. Im wondering if the tacky flagpole on top was the main cost of the burger as i know the cost of building timber is expensive and could account for the majority of the burgers construction price I HAVE OFFERED THIS REVIEW BASED ON MY FAIR APPRAISAL OF THIS QUALITY OF MEAL AND PRESENTATION AND IT IS NOT DONE MALISCIOUSLY DISPITE ITS BITTER CONTENT. I HAVE CITED THIS AS PER THE PHOTO. I HAVE NOT BEEN OFFERED REWARD OR INDUCEMENT TO PLACE SUCH A POSTINGMore

Took visitors from Queensland for lunch only to be served less than acceptable food, and receive average service. We were very disappointed & embarrassed by the quality of the food & the tired/torn furnishings.

Generous servings of unpretentious pub food - I had beer battered fish and chips - outside on the balcony in the sun. We looked straight out over the ocean and the fresh air plus the sound of the surf nearly put me to sleep..

We were travelling from Melbourne to Apollo Bay, and decided to stop here for lunch. As we have done many many times over the years Well……..very disappointing. Lunch for two was $70 for two mains. My husbands steak was paper thin, ( what you would...have in a steak sandwich ) and he requested med/rare, and a well done steak arrived at the table. Salad consisted of mixed salad leaves. Nothing else……no tomato, no red onion, no cucumber, nothing. Not much input from the chef! My Chicken Parma, was not hot, and quite soggy. Again, the same disappointing salad. Sorry guys, you have lost these customers. Will eat at the General Store close by next time. We don’t pay these prices in the city.More

Perfect for families. Walked straight in on Easter Sunday. Awesome views. Couldn’t fault it. Exactly what we were looking for. Not flash or gourmet but great casual pub experience both service and food.

Husband and I with our 3 young children staying at the Big4 caravan park which is walking distance to the Wye Pub. Wanted to be organised and book a table ahead but unable to locate a phone number nor can you book online. (Apparently they...don’t take bookings - walk in only) Walked in at 5.15pm and struggled to find a table. It was a freezing cold night so outside with young children not favourable. There was however a very long table in the centre of the room with 2x people sitting at it. We asked if we could sit at one end, and the woman replied, “ no we have reserved this table” Upon enquiring to the very young staff about this reservation and how I was unable to make a one, they told me that “people are free to come and go whenever they like and can sit where ever they like” My husband then approached the couple to explain and they said they were waiting on a larger party to arrive. If the pub just allowed table booking, this would mitigate these conflicts between patrons. Ordered 2x kids spaghetti 1x kids fish and chips, 1x specials curry and 1x squid ink pasta. All terrible. (Except the fish, which was fresh) The spaghetti was like tinned spaghetti, the curry was watery and flavourless and the pasta had absolutely no flavour at all. Paid top dollar for awful food! Would not recommend to others. Spent way too much money for dinner and a round of drinks for a family of 5. You’re better off driving 30 mins extra either way to Apollo Bay or Lorne!!More

STOP. DO NOT PROCEED. Awful food. Ordered spaghetti bolognaise tasted and looked like it came from a can. The fish we also ordered was burnt- probably cooked in oil that needed changing. Way overpriced drinks. No local beer. One pint cost up to $18,50. Better...off driving to Lorne or Apollo Bay or eating in.More

For a small town pub, this place offers fairly decent vegan food. I particularly enjoyed the deep-fried oyster mushrooms. My daughter had a vegan burger, and although the bun itself was a bit hard, the burger patty was better than expected. It was worth the...visit.More

Great views, friendly staff. Had been looking forward to dining here based on word of mouth, and really wanted to like it but was disappointed by the food. The Pepperonata Tartlet (main for $37) was probably not more than 6 inches in diameter - it...was really an entree size, in no way a full main meal and not comparable to the mains the other members of my group ordered. To their credit, the staff offered to swap it for another main without any fuss when I complained. The fish and chips main was a good size, but hard to find the fish amongst the huge amount of batter. Likewise for the Crispy Fried Oyster Mushrooms side - the batter dominated and overpowered the mushrooms. The ocean trout main was also a good size, but uninspiring as the fish was well overcooked and dry (at least in two of our party's dishes), losing the tender juiciness of ocean trout when that's just cooked enough. The side of chips and side fennel salad were both ok. Salad ingredients in the mains were fresh enough, but otherwise not out of the ordinary. In general, overpriced for the quality of food.More
