This Cafe was normally closed on a Sunday night but due to our family needing a place to eat, there were 20 of us, 8 kids and 12 adults they offered to open for us. Amazing in such a little ski village to do this....More

Stopped for a late lunch driving from Picton to the West Coast. What a find - excellent food, great service and beautiful location. Even the homemade bread was exceptional - lovely beetroot and walnut bread to accompany the guacamole. We'll be back!!

Stopped here for a coffee and lunch on way from Blenheim to Westport. Amazing cafe with all home made food. BLT was one of the best I've ever had. Must visit when passing through and then take a look at Lake Rotoiti for stunning views

We asked in town where we could get coffee. We were directed to The Clinker where we indulged in coffee and pastries. We are home in the US and my husband still talks about the fudge, mascarpone, shredded apple, sponge cake pastry he ordered! Our...More

Hi Abnil, thank you for your review. I’m responding to apologise for your unfortunate experience with us, and also that you were forced to drive through our gorgeous country rather than flying over it. I was hoping you would be able to let me know...More

I am the first to admit that I can tend to have pre conceived views of little town cafes but I think small town NZ has certainly come of age & gone are the days of lamingtons & sausage rolls! We have experienced some very...More

Well its hard to find a decent meal in the back blocks, well this is one of them. Well cooked and full of complintery flavour. If your on highway 63 you must stop in. Well priced great service and great food.

Called in here for lunch on our way to Picton. Pleasantly surprised. Very nicely set up. can imagine it would be really cool in the snowy winter. Menu had options for a big feed or smaller which we chose. I had the soup, cauliflower and...More

The food and drinks selections were appropriate and service good although a little intrusive. The food and drinks selections were very well presented, although the food tasted a little less impressive (ie less tasty) than it's visual appearance.More

Description
Here at Clinker Café we believe in making everything ourselves - from the bacon right down to the pesto. We know exactly what has gone into every element of a dish. There are no packets in our pantry, no ready made product, no frozen meals. Every dish has been created from the heart and soul, flavours born to be together mingle in peace and harmony. Our food is not fast food. It is vibrant, healthy, simple food done well, and takes time to prepare. We believe eating out should be an experience, food should look amazing, smell amazing and taste amazing. Good food, like great cheese, should not be rushed - anticipation is part of the fun...
