this is a volunteer run place but they take such pride and care in what they do, you cannot help but enjoy. A simple bacon and egg barm like I had last time (for £1.40) is not the last word in fine dining, but it was done WELL - which is more than the last few I have had in... More

Where else can you get a coffee and an egg bun for less than two pounds! Run by volunteers in Royden Park this is a quirky hidden gem - utterly charming and a great pit stop after a long dog walk. Your canine companion can sit with you too which is a great bonus!

Royden Park is possibly the best place for leisurely family walks and brilliant for dogs. Walks can be extended in all directions and we have never had a disappointing day out. Always capped off with a cafe stop with tea and coffee at 65p which coupled with the friendly atmosphere can't be bettered. Brings back lovely memories of days out... More

This cafe is in Royden Park , right at the main entrance, car park. It really is as cheap as chips , I go here often with Ruby ( my dog ) , the home made cake is ace , they had an offer on last Sunday , coffee and cake £1.50 , what a bargain , and real nice... More

We have just visited the other cafe in Royden Park, found it to be not a pleasant experience. The staff here are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. The food in good and not expensive. Children are made most welcome and there is a lot to look at, including a bookcase full of books.

This place is run by the friends of royden park and is the friendliest cafe by far. As the name suggests they welcome dogs and they serve basic good value fayre. The crusts from the bread are served free as dog toast and it was very popular amongst our canine visitors - just one fault no ice cream 😓

Been a few times to Barking Mad cafe. Not sure if its a business or a charity , the cafe does have a few helpers but not sure if they are paid or volunteers. The snacks are really good quality and freshly made to order. The chunky homemade vegetable soup is very tasty. The portions are very generous. Everything is... More

Oh how nice it is to rest my paws after our adventure around the lovely Roydon Park, Banjo Pointer and I look forward to a hot jug of home made soup and Cracking toast, so welcome in the colder months. Cake and scones are yummy but by far the best thing is being amongst good kind people. Barking Mad, yes... More
