We had been wanting to eat here for a while now after hearing good things. A small group of us, 5 adults 2 children had a brilliant time in this little country pub. It was perfect, the food flawless, the service great. The roast pork which I had was cooked perfectly and crackling just right. Lots of veg, very tasty... More

This place just keeps getting better tried a new Ale from Greyhound brewery called Rainbow eyes, I always drink a pint but rarely two. I had three pints of this beer and it was delicious one of the best I have tasted. The food was great, again the Lamb ballotine was exceptional.

This was a chance discovery, we were looking for a good lunch and we found it! It took a little perseverance to keep going up the road, but worth the journey. The pub has a delightful feel the staff were friendly and welcomed our dog as well. The pub was fully booked for Valentine's Day even at lunch time.... but... More

Today was the only decent day of theek weather wise, according to the forecast, so my husband took me on a bit of a mystery drive and we ended up at this lovely, tucked away pub in Burpham near Arundel. What a lovely surprise! We hadn't booked (I suggest you do so) but were lucky enough to be given a... More

Lovely, friendly, country pub with a warm atmosphere. Good English food with a contemporary touch. The roast grouse was delicious. Friendly service and good value overall. A Monday is not always the best day of the week to go somewhere for lunch, but no problem here. Have been before and will go again.

We had not been the The George for a few years as its a bit out of the way but its worth the trip. We got a good welcome and the place was busy. The menu offers a wide selection and the food was very good and well presented. Our only comment and not a criticism was that our table... More

Gosh! This restaurant was a great find. The pub exuded a warm welcome the moment my son and I walked through the door. The black pudding scotch egg and gin smoked salmon proved excellent starters. We both had Pork Belly which was succulent and very tasty. Even though we were full, we still went for dessert. Service was polite with... More

Description
This unique 17th century Inn houses a wonderful British restaurant and pub. You'll find it at the heart of the delightful Sussex village of Burpham, just 4 km from historic Arundel, surrounded by the glorious South Downs National Park. The menus are classic “best of British” food with a modern twist. Everything is home cooked with the freshest seasonal ingredients, locally sourced where possible. That means the specials menu changes all the time, so your tastebuds will always be delighted. Open for lunch 12-2 or 12-3 weekends, and from 6pm for dinner. Great wine menu and local Real Ale. This is a very family friendly place; well-behaved dogs are welcome to sit under the table in the pub area whilst you dine. Groups, weddings and private parties love it here and come back year after year. Bookings are recommended especially for Sunday lunch as it's always very busy.
