We've lived in Sussex for years and never ventured out to The George before... we've been missing out. I managed to book their last available table for 7pm on the day and was lucky to get in! This pub is remote but totally worth it when you get there. Cosy atmosphere, fire in the winter/cold evenings, great food and good... More

We were shopping in Angmering and wanted somewhere to go for lunch when the girl in the shop suggested we try The George at Burpham. It was a pretty drive through the country to get there and when we arrived the only tables they could offer us were outside but while we had a drink at the bar they found... More

14 of us Ashington Village Ramblers all had lunch here following a 4.5 miles ramble circular walk in the area. Without exception all of the ramblers agreed that the lunch was first class. Considering that we all had different orders and ordered the meals on our return the service was excellent as well. Personally I went for the chicken Kiev... More

This was mine and my sisters first visit and I wont say my last as I believe giving second chances. We booked a table for yesterday 7 March at 12:30 pm, we were offered a early or a late lunch, we went for early. I can have no fault with the food which was excellent. As I said we ordered... More

Loved it here, we've been meaning to visit for ages and found ourselves here on a Friday lunchtime. Small pub and restaurant area, nice vibe. Staff were friendly and efficient and food was great. Think you need to book as it is small and gets busy.

We had been wanting to eat here for a while now after hearing good things. A small group of us, 5 adults 2 children had a brilliant time in this little country pub. It was perfect, the food flawless, the service great. The roast pork which I had was cooked perfectly and crackling just right. Lots of veg, very tasty... More

This place just keeps getting better tried a new Ale from Greyhound brewery called Rainbow eyes, I always drink a pint but rarely two. I had three pints of this beer and it was delicious one of the best I have tasted. The food was great, again the Lamb ballotine was exceptional.

This was a chance discovery, we were looking for a good lunch and we found it! It took a little perseverance to keep going up the road, but worth the journey. The pub has a delightful feel the staff were friendly and welcomed our dog as well. The pub was fully booked for Valentine's Day even at lunch time.... but... More

This unique 17th century Inn houses a wonderful British restaurant and pub. You'll find it at the heart of the delightful Sussex village of Burpham, just 4 km from historic Arundel, surrounded by the glorious South Downs National Park. The menus are classic “best of British” food with a modern twist. Everything is home cooked with the freshest seasonal ingredients, locally sourced where possible. That means the specials menu changes all the time, so your tastebuds will always be delighted. Open for lunch 12-2 or 12-3 weekends, and from 6pm for dinner. Great wine menu and local Real Ale. This is a very family friendly place; well-behaved dogs are welcome to sit under the table in the pub area whilst you dine. Groups, weddings and private parties love it here and come back year after year. Bookings are recommended especially for Sunday lunch as it's always very busy.
